Re: Any anime fans? I need recommendations

These are ones that I have seen and liked:
YuYu Hakusho, Tenchi Muyo, Case Closed (though I haven't seen that many episodes), Outlaw Star, Rurouni Kenshin

Also, if you haven't seen the Dragonball series, it's at least as good as DBZ and 10x better than GT, imo.

Re: Any anime fans? I need recommendations

Try Read or Die and R.O.D. the TV (series)

Re: Any anime fans? I need recommendations

I got Appleseed and Appleseed Ex Machina, but still unopened, don't have time, unfortunately... Wanted to get Naruto Shippenden but there are hundreds of episodes, and well, time and cost...

I loved Cowboy Bebop, and more so because of the music.

Re: Any anime fans? I need recommendations

The actual Ghost in the Shell series is meh. The movies are far better. I am in total agreement on One Piece. My friend calls it the "Japanese Veggie Tales" lmao. As others have pointed out already, I avoid any dubbed anime at all costs. There is so much that is lost in translation (particularly with tone of voice) in many of them that they become unwatchable in English.

These are some of my favorites...

- If you like Cowboy Bebop (I saw the dubbed version which ruined the series for me), I suggest trying Trigun. It's Robin Hood meets Space Western.

- Case Closed. If you love mysteries (a la Scooby Doo), then you will love this series. It blurs the line of childish and adult humor well like Scooby which makes it good.

-Wolf's Rain. This one is kind of weird but I like it. It's about wolves and people (not furry but more anthropomorphic) but you would have to read the plot to get an understanding of it.

- A Certain Magical Index and A Certain Scientific Railgun. Sure it's Yuri, but a lot of great action also (and not that kind of action ). I would throw Zettai Karen Children on this note too because they have a similar type of story.

- The Girl Who Lept through Space. I would put this along side Sky Girls and Strike Witches for the female mech-ish genre, although the first is one of the better ones.

- Some oldies but goodies are Ranma 1/2, Yu Yu Hakusho and Rurouni Kenshin.

I could throw out some other animes that are more romance or fairly bizarre like Ouran High School Host Club, Gravitation, Ah! My Goddess! and Saki.

Re: Any anime fans? I need recommendations

Wolf's Rain was one of my favorites!

We recently visited Kaze No Stigma. I thought it was pretty interesting, one character drives me nuts but other than that not a bad show.

Re: Any anime fans? I need recommendations

Higurashi no naku karo ni is nice. It's very wtf. It's cute, funny, happy, depressing, mystery, violent, gory... So yeah...

Re: Any anime fans? I need recommendations

I love cute anime especially AzuManga Daoih. Osaka always makes me laugh. Here's a clip...

Re: Any anime fans? I need recommendations

I'll recommend one for you, hoping that will make you watch it. XD

Watch Durarara. It's really good. There isn't exactly one main character, so it moves from one point of view to another in each episode. It's really interesting. There's only one season made (and that will probably be it), but that makes it better to watch. Things move fast and stay interesting.

Re: Any anime fans? I need recommendations

I have to recommend Detective Conan (aka Case Closed) as well as Sailor Moon (avoid the horrid English dub and go with the subbed version instead).

Re: Any anime fans? I need recommendations

I've started watching K-on which is fantastic. It's not only a great show, it also has great music.

Re: Any anime fans? I need recommendations

I'm a couple of episodes into "Gantz" at the moment. It has a really great story but it's a shame they went overboard with the fan service. It's kind of gross really. If it was gone, the story would be much better.

Re: Any anime fans? I need recommendations

Death note and Code geass already watched, so I would say:

-Tutor Hitman Reborn!: Must-try.I loved it. A bit childish
-Fairy Tail: Must-try. The first 50 episodes are the best. I recommend watching at least the first 5 because the first 1-2 suck compared to the others.
-FMA: Brotherhood: Must-try.awesome, better that the first FMA.
-HunterXHunter: I liked it, but it was years ago.
-Air Gear: Must-try. Really liked it.

The last one is Toradora. No idea why, but its the only romantic anime I like, I really recommend it.

Oh, and....watch them in Japanese, they're a lot better.

Re: Any anime fans? I need recommendations

I really love Inuyasha and Yu Yu Hakusho!

Spirited Away is my favorite movie!

My sister really enjoys Naruto as well.

And if your looking for less actiony stuff to, I'd recommend Fruits Basket and Gravitation.

Also, do you read manga too, or just watch anime, cause I have a bunch I enjoyed reading ^.^

Re: Any anime fans? I need recommendations

-Death Note is one of my all-time favorites, it's really cool! Definetly worth watching

-Tsubasa Chronicle Reservoir Totally sweet with some touches of action! Is a must if you like CLAMP's work! The OVAs are great... the third season not so much.

-X/1999 A CLAMP oldie! But it's awesome! One of their best works! The story is great, the characters are amazing and everything is just... perfect!

-High School of the Death Zombieland meets High School Musical! Ok... no! Not at all! XD it's a story full of action and scary zombies! One of my favorites too (:

Re: Any anime fans? I need recommendations

Whenever I need to just let go off my brain and enjoy a great moment of "WTF just happened?" I like to watch Digi Charat Nyo. Or this weird series about a baker.

@Drugstore Cowboy Utena was great, like a darker version of sailor moon almost, with lots of sex (gay and straight)

Gankutsuou was a good adaptation, I want to see the one they did for Romeo and Juliet

Arjuna, although some may say a little boring anf preachy is one of my favorites. Great message, fantastic music, cool action sequences

Re: Any anime fans? I need recommendations

Black Lagoon, no fuff only 36 episodes, its a great gritty anime about smugglers in oceanaic area. lots of gun play, and has its own sick sense of humor

Cowboy bebop. Sci-fi, Bounty hunters in space. No fluff i think 24 Episodes or so. Classic great anime.

Baccano is another good one, takes place on a train with flash backs to show how everyone ended up on the same train. another good series. based in 1920s gangsters.

MOVIES
Now these 3 are all from same director but hes at classs of his on for anime movies all 3 are master pieces

Princess Monoke

Howls Moving Castle

Spirited Away
