And Let's not forget about the other Deplorables

Today's shooting that claimed 6 victims was at a Presbyterian school in Nashville. Three kids, ages 9, 9 and 8 and three adults over the age of 60. It was less than the 10 people that is the latest bar that has to be exceeded to call it "newsworthy"... because we have so many of these shootings that we have to have double digits of dead bodies for it to make the news. But Congress does define 3 or more victims has a mass shooting, so at 6 dead, it qualifies.

The local U.S. Congressperson is Andy Ogles, a self-described "conservative activist". His social media described him as "#Believer | #Patriot | #Conservative | Father | Friend | Congressman for #TN05".

And here's Andy's Christmas card with his wife and children and... of course, weaponry. Three kids at Presbyterian Covenant School didn't come home yesterday.

Andy's three kids came home to their house full of weapons of mass killing. Weapons like the ones that killed three kids today.

This is what deplorable looks like.

^^^We had drag shows at the club so over the years I have spoken with LOTS of drag queens and though most are not like this there is a solid minority who might as well change their name to anita bryant. They are not really conservatives but they are far right.

I should note that "Jesus" showed up alot in the conversation as well
I think that so many of these guys probably grew up around white southern Baptist women with 3 foot high hair...and hearing the saying,
'the higher the hair, the closer to Jesus'.

By coincidence, I posted this same family pic and Ogles' statement in the Political Cartoons, Memes & Amusing Videos thread about 3 minutes after you posted them in this thread last night.

My post was removed, but yours was not.
Why?

...My post was removed, but yours was not.
Why?
The note on the removal comments about the presence of minors. This one probably wasn't removed because it's a Twitter linked image and not posted on JUB's server.

My posted pics were also linked from twitter.

and about the presence of minors, I assume you will also be removing your posted pic of minors shortly.

I understand the need to keep minors off of the site, but this isn't porn or anything suggestive of it.

Perhaps JUB could consider the possibility of relaxing the rules a bit, especially as this is concerning murdered kids.

It's a bit off topic but there has been a discussion about the strictness of the policy. The current policy was the interpretation of JUB's former attorney and it is based upon the fact that the site can't separate adult content from the non-adult sections of the forum. It was largely focused upon male celebrities under age 18 and characters under age 18 (even when the actor was over 18).

The current policy is strict and frankly, most of us find it stupid that it includes non-erotic images. The owner would be the person to complain to about the old legal interpretation and the resultant policy.

It would be good to relax the rules on this to permit non sexualized photos of clothed adults and children together...but it is always a slippery slope, isn't it. So many times, I have unconsciously posted a pic with a kid in it because the context is so non-sexual.

What makes it difficult with the pic of the family and their guns, is that the subject matter alone would give ammosexuals a hard-on.

I thought the photojournalist's capture of the child on the bus crying with her hand pressed against the window was a powerful statement.

Considering the faux outrage over drag queens reading, Hillary's pizza parlor and the unborn, seeing an actual casualty of the #Patriot sociopathy spoke a thousand words.

Meanwhile...

Rep Andy Ogles of the AR-15 Christmas card was quoted as saying "Why not talk about the real issue facing the country? And that’s mental health.", today when asked about his pro-gun, pro-child-murder political positions.

Seditious sprinter Sen Josh Hawley (R-MO) has a burr in his saddle because he wants a Federal hate crimes investigation into whether the trans shooter was targeting the school because it was a Christian school.

“We must also tell the truth about what happened yesterday in Nashville,” Hawley said. “This murderous rampage, this taking of innocent life, was a horrific crime, but more specifically, it was a hate crime. A crime that according to Nashville police, specifically targeted, that’s their word, targeted, the members of this Christian community, the members of this religious institution.”
Reminder: in 2021, Josh Hawley was the only Senator to vote "no" on hate crimes legislation to protest Asian Americans.

I guess he's given up on his arguments about "hate crimes should be a States' issue" or the "mental health is the problem" of the past.

The only consistency in these faux populists is their inconsistency.

It was only a matter of time before it became all about trans and Xians.

Hawley is as slimy as they come. He's not mentioning that the shooter was trans; instead he's using female pronouns to just "own the libs" and get Trans-Twitter in a tizzy.

Deny. Distract. Deflect.

It's the MAGA motto.

Watch. The GQP will move to outlaw trans people before they outlaw guns.

And this time, they will use the broad brush of mental health to imply that all trans people are mentally ill and dangerous.

It is what they do.

Weaponize everything.

My question was what did the Christians do to her to make her want to kill them.

Presbyterians aren't exactly known for being evangelical zealots. My hunch is that his person was mentally ill and had been for some time.

The parents said that there were 7 guns hidden in the house and that they had thought that the shooter had gotten rid of them. This hints that the parents knew there was a problem and that they had intervened to disarm the shooter and get rid of the weapons horde.

The trans thing is going to prove to be a symptom, not a cause. This looks like suicide by cop.

Tragic how often it comes back to parents not reporting their own kids...but unsurprising in the all American gun cult.

Perhaps, but just about every mainline Protestant group has its bigots.

Is it that difficult to ban (or limit) corporate and lobby political donations?

Nobody should own a government at any level.

No it's not difficult. The 'pubs however have been packing the courts for this very reason for years.

I am not trying to spam, but this one also really belongs here because of the deplorableness of both men.

The case is building that the shooter was mentally ill. Tennessee has no red flag law, so even if the parents had known about the stockpiled guns, there was little they could do about getting the guns surrendered to law enforcement.

Some quotes from a CNN story just posted:

The shooter had legally bought seven firearms – including an AR-15 and two others used in Monday’s attack – and hidden them at home, Metro Nashville Police Chief John Drake said Tuesday. The guns were purchased between October 2020 and June 2022, police spokesman Don Aaron said.

Hale’s parents told police they knew Hale had bought and sold one weapon and thought that was the extent of it, Drake said....

Hale’s childhood friend also revealed the killer sent her disturbing messages minutes before the attack, saying “I’m planning to die today” and it would be on the news, Averianna Patton told CNN on Tuesday.

Hale graduated from Nossi College of Art & Design last year, the president of the school confirmed to CNN. Hale worked as a freelance graphic designer and a part-time grocery shopper, a LinkedIn profile says.

Police have referred to Hale as a “female shooter,” and later said Hale was transgender. Hale used male pronouns on a social media profile, a spokesperson told CNN when asked to clarify.

The Presbyterians aren't progressive by any means. Many Presbyterian churches in the US have split because they didn't want to support same sex unions or gay marriage. The splits are going to be the demise of many Presbyterian churches as their membership ages and dies off.

Presbyterians probably don't have much to fear. If I were an anti-trans legislator or a church that participates in conversion therapy, I think I would be worried, however.

Movie night in the State House. ;)
