I couldn't find anything to support this policy. Florida isn't a community property state and women have had the ability to open bank accounts and own property in their own name (tenancy by the entirety) since the 19th century.

If a bank account is opened in both spouses' name and it is styled as "and" instead of "or", both persons would have to consent to transactions on the account. That's not new though.

I would be curious if this was something tucked into legislation that went unnoticed, though.

I watched that incident this afternoon. What I was watching for was signs that McConnell might have been having a transient ischemic attack (TIA) or a minor seizure.

McConnell took a series of falls over the past few years from post-polio syndrome. In March, he fell at a hotel in DC and ended up in the hospital with a head injury. That injury was significant enough for McConnell to be discharged to a rehabilitation facility for additional treatment.

What alarmed me about today's incident was not that McConnell appears to have had what could have been an absence seizure. What alarmed me was that his fellow Republicans didn't ask him how he was or ask someone to call for medical assistance. That makes me think this is not the first time McConnell has had this happen in front of his colleagues.

It could be that, or it could be just that they wanted to get him away from reporters and cameras as quickly as possible and not draw further attention to it by asking him about it..

That occurred to me but I've heard that tone before in caregivers of patients with dementia. If you think someone is having a stroke, or a serious medical emergency, you don't say, "Do you want to go back to your office?", you say, "Are you okay?", "Can you speak?".

This wasn't the first time. The person on McConnell's right is DOCTOR John Barrasso, an orthopedic surgeon who is one of the Senators from Wyoming. He knew. The others - Thune and Ernst are members of the Senate Leadership. They knew, too.

Paul Dyal, a pastor at Jacksonville Assembly of the Body of Christ arrested with two others in a child sexual abuse case, has been released on bond.

Former pastor Paul Dyal, who was arrested in a raid on the Jacksonville Assembly of the Body of Christ in March 2022, has now been released on bond.

Dyal, 79, is one of the three men arrested in in their late 60s to 80s associated with the church accused of sexually abusing children, part of a culture of abuse that one plaintiff called "cult-like."

He is facing two counts of capital sexual battery on a child. His arrest warrant said the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office had been notified of a child abused by Dyal in August 2003, but no court records related to this case exist, meaning no charges were filed.
