Ruben Verastigui, 29, reportedly posted a photograph of himself at the White House just two months before his arrest on child pornography offenses. According to his now-deleted LinkedIn account, Verastigui previously worked as a senior digital strategist for the Senate Republican Conference and the Republican National Committee. Verastigui also acted as the digital media coordinator for the anti-abortion group Students for Life of America. He left the Republican Conference in July of 2020 to become the communications manager for the nonprofit group Citizens For Responsible Energy Solutions, his profile said.

I am old enough to remember the days when Democrats like Ted Kennedy and Gary Hart sailed their political careers (and marriages) into the rocks from their love for liquor and loose women.

I also remember some pretty awful characters like Lee Atwater.

But man oh man... nothing like these Trump-connected characters.

And the evangelicals that are Trump's fan base? If I wanted to, I could post 3-4 new stories each week about ministers caught in all kinds of sins. It's happening that much. And that doesn't include the increasing number of investigative reports that disclose that hundreds of priests molested school age boys and girls in Catholic schools and churches.

And they're worried about librarian, teachers and drag queens?

I'm hard to shock but damn...

My guess is that mainstream-media editors and journalists, if they saw that story, just reacted with "Ew! Gross!", and they figured (probably correctly) that readers and viewers would react the same way.

If a Democrat did something like that, the mainstream media would be bullied into covering it by the right wing.
