And Let's not forget about the other Deplorables

This is just not true. A whole bunch of us were screaming for investigations into all of that. Knowing full well that would never happen and the perpetrators would just skate. Which they did.

There is an investigation with Cuomo. Which is an inherently different situation and allows all of us to hold the whining until there is a report.

What I mean is the validity of claims is hardly questioned as it is when it comes to the Democrat counterpart.

I'm pretty sure he did it, I believe the women, he's always been that kind of asshole. No one I know, nor anyone in here is claiming he's innocent that I can tell. The investigation will find what it finds and then there will be lawsuits and perhaps trials. They will generate penalties or convictions - which is how victims get their redress.

The question is should he be forced to resign on the basis of accusation alone.

This.

Since there is an investigation underway, it will take its course and then we will find out what the reality of it is.

...As for feeling uncomfortable, I don't think that the woman whose lawyer spoke for her on NPR was feeling just uncomfortable. Uncomfortable is when office jokes flutter about the office. Or when there's a glancing stare from another cubicle. I believe she felt threatened.
Some of the more recent allegations are more concrete and more concerning. The "he made me feel uncomfortable" statement was meant to encompass the Sen Franken allegations, too. We're now at a point where the phenomenon is referred to as "getting Frankened".

And the State Attorney General for New York is a force to be reckoned with. There's little doubt she will go where the evidence takes her.

Cuomo can be very effective ,and for the justifiable criticism about nursing home deaths New York State has been one of the best states in ramping down the virus at the community level. The nursing home fudging numbers part of the Cuomo ledger though must be thoroughly investigated, as of course these sexual misconduct allegations. Cuomo can be a sanctimonius ass and a bully and the accusations against him are serious. I don't want Cuomo to just be able to slide because he is a powerful Democratic Party politician but as been noted by several here, when powerful Democrats get accused in recent years they almost ALWAYS resign, get pressured out by prominent Democrats. When things happen to Republican leaders who have been accused of misconduct in recent years, just as overwhelmingly, the response on the Republican side is... crickets. They just wait it out, or dismiss the seriousness altogether. We had a President (or as current President Joe Biden refers him, aptly, as "the former guy") who bragged about being able to get away with grabbing pussies and going after anyone he wanted because he was so prominent. Still got elected and was nearly re-elected again, with 12 million MORE votes, somehow. Someone who thankfully Biden received over 7 million more votes(but won on very thin margins in the electoral votes of several key states) but who Republicans with few exceptions excused and supported him. So while yes, I want Cuomo to face investigations that do involve some very serious and credible accusations.... I'm not going to continue to support a policy of unilateral disarmament here politically speaking, that Republicans just thumb their noses at and support the call for his immediate resignation. Let it play out, and as KB says the New York AG is someone who will do what she must if she uncovers patterns of behavior and actions in the investigations that call for his indictment. If it's justified, she'll come after his sorry ass.

Hopefully Trump will be finding out soon enough what that entails, on a number of matters, as well.

He'll resign, just before the impeachment. Heh, I don't know how this is going to play out - and I remember that right wing nutcase who tried to pull this in Biden last summer. She just lied, so that unfortunately does happen. It's possible that Cuomo did it and the disclosures are still partisan, it's possible it's exactly what it looks like.

The unfortunate reality is that the victims are going to be evaluated in a political sphere long before anyone gets to a courtroom.

I can say that any str8 guy that gets nipple studs worries me.

File under, "Well, of course he did".

Matt Gaetz says he's under federal investigation for sexual misconduct [Axios]
Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), one of the nation's rising-star conservative firebrands, told Axios he is under federal investigation for sexual activity with women, and fears being criminally charged.

What he's saying: "The allegations against me are as searing as they are false," Gaetz said in a 13-minute phone interview with Axios. "I believe that there are people at the Department of Justice who are trying to criminalize my sexual conduct, you know when I was a single guy."...

The big picture: Gaetz, 38, said the specifics of the allegations are "unclear," and he said he's been told "very little." But the New York Times reported late Tuesday afternoon that the Justice Department is investigating Gaetz "over whether he had a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old and paid for her to travel with him."

P.S. From press reports so far, it doesn't sound like the 19 year old is the so-called "son" that Gaetz claims he is raising.

Gay as fuck. It sounds to me Gaytz is using "sexual activity with women" as his beard. Meanwhile, back to his hunky teenage "son."

Girls. Not women. Girls. Press reports say that the purported "girlfriend" was a 17 year old girl. The age of consent in Florida is 18.

For those that didn't get the backstory, this is another one of those "birds of a feather" stories that have become too common in the Trump crowd. The allegations against Gaetz came out of an FBI investigation of one of Gaetz's friends- a man named Joel Greenberg.

Who is Joel Greenberg? Former tax collector tied to U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz steeped in controversy before criminal charges [Orlando Sentinel]
Former Seminole County Tax Collector Joel Greenberg — who resigned on June 24, the day after he was arrested at his home by federal agents — currently faces 14 federal charges, including allegations that he stalked a political opponent, illegally used a state database to create fake IDs and sex-trafficked a minor.

On Tuesday, it was revealed the probe had further extended to include conservative self-described “firebrand” U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz who, according to the New York Times, is being investigated for an alleged sexual relationship with a 17-year-old girl...

A 2019 Orlando Sentinel investigation revealed Greenberg had spent $3.5 million in consultant contracts, salaries to friends and associates, including giving a combined $644,000 to three of his groomsmen and another $677,000 to a campaign adviser. An audit released last December showed Greenberg wasted about $1 million in taxpayer funds, including buying body armor, weapons, ammunition and a drone...

Apparently, Greenberg was running a privately-owned company out of his tax office and was embezzling taxpayer money to buy BitCoin through that business.

Greenberg is on the right, Gaetz is in the middle and Trump crony Roger Stone is on the left. Deplorables, all.
