Another Hollywood celebrity to come out on May 5th [Chely Wright]

Who the hell sets a date for their coming out. Next thing we know there will be commercials. I really hope it's a guy that's coming out though. Vin Diesel was who first came to mind. James Franco would be nice too though. Who ever said Tobey Maguire, he just had a kid not too long ago so that's never going to happen.

First of all.. Tobey Maguire, a kid?!?! LMAO. The guy is over 30! Since when is over 30 "a kid"? Besides, he has a wife and a daughter. Yes, I know he can still be gay and have a wife and a child. I just don't think he would come out like this though.

Maybe it's Taylor Lautner. There has been rumors about him going around lately. Like him going to a party at director Bryan Singer's home and staying till very late. Singer is gay and known for having "sexy parties". That would be great news. Taylor's a hottie. Who knows...
 
I doubt any major star is going to Come Out on may 5th. It will probably be a "well, duh!" celebrity coming out, like Zachary Q (now that Heroes has been canceled <I hope it's been canceled>). None of the Twilight stars would be allowed to come out. And yes, I mean "allowed", because very few Hollywood $$makers have free reign over their own lives. But....that's another thread subject all together...;)
 
i wonder if it would be evan lysacek..... hes on dancing with the stars so he would be able to talk about it there..... seems pretty believable.

You're so right about 'allowed.'

One of the things that actors do, big actors, is they delude themselves into thinking they have a choice in who they're dating.

Some think they can get away with it and have a little wiggle room, but reality it's zero.

Most of these couples that grace our magazines are a sham cooked up by a publicist. ;)

I have to agree with the earlier sentiment...

If you need some guy with a great reputation for easing people out of the closet to arrange it for you, then make a stink about it for weeks, then finally have a ta-da date and what, jump out of a big pink cake and onto the couch at The View? I'll certainly be waiting to see who it is May 5th, but all in all...blah.

Sure I'd love to see Joseph Gordon-Levitt, James Franco, Vin Diesel...and well, Channing Tatum (...stupid Jenna Dewan), while we're naming every hot guy that's played a gay part, bounced a gay club, or posed for a gay magazine, hehe. ;)

I don't think the action star was a hint, merely saying that the US is moving away from the idea of gay actors scampering about like nellies in a firefight and calling it good cinema. But you notice, everyone I mentioned is an "action star" from Stop Loss to GI Joe to Spiderman to...Vin Diesel, lol.

I love 'em all, straight or gay. The problem isn't Hollywood axing gay actors. The problem is gay actors using this type of BS to hype their arrival into the real world. It just furthers the idea that being gay and popular is more controversial than it actually is. They're all human beings on stage or screen, just particularly good at pretending and working the crowd.

I think if this is going to change there needs to be a bigger part played by people like us. There will always be the money machine and the religious contingent - so yeah, I wouldn't expect an actor in the Twilight saga (*snort*) to come out anytime soon, since Meyer's a Latter Days and overly involved with production. But honestly, how much longer is money and church going to be an issue in Hollywood?

My guess...until we start doing more than speculating and start moving against the mindset publicly. Here's one way to do it. Support that and anything like it, and all this fuss will go away sooner than you think.
 
Is it bad that I would be a somewhat disappointed if it turns out to be a woman coming out as a lesbian? :D
