Araucaria Appreciation Thread

Good Wednesday evening Gary, RM, Paul, and Michael! (*8*) :kiss:

I've had a rough couple of days moving in an old washer that some neighbors gave me. First, I had to lift it over two doorsteps. It was too heavy for me to lift even with a hand truck, so a neighbor had to help me. Next, I had to move one washer out to get another washer in. I had problems with the intake hoses and the electricity, so I couldn't get it to work. Finally, after a day or so, I got everything set right, and was able to run it. It was noisy, clunked through the cycle. I can see I'll have to replace it in a couple of months with a new washer, which is what I should have done to start with.

Gary, I hope your weather is getting cooler. Summer has returned here, and it's hot and muggy again. It's supposed to rain tomorrow.

Well, our heat finally broke, but only too well. Yesterday it got cloudy and the temperature dropped into the 60s, and stayed there all day. Then it rained in the afternoon, A really crappy day. :(

I finally chopped up my cashew tree that blew over during Ian, and put the branches out to be picked up. It was a shame, having to cut up such a healthy, beautiful tree like a Thanksgiving turkey. I left the trunk and uprighted it, and I hope it will grow back as strong as before.

And I filled out my mail-in ballot. Voting against DeSatan was the easy choice, but I had to study the other candidates, amendments, and judgeships. It was hard to find any info on especially the regional judges. But I hand delivered my ballot directly to the Supervisor of Elections office. I didn't want to take a chance on mailing it, and two weeks later it wouldn't show up there. I just wanted for the process to be over and done with,

I had to replace my washer a couple months ago. Lowes delivered the new one, installed it and took away the old one. The delivery was free but had to pay $40 for the takeaway.

We were at 66F this morning. :biggrin:

The weather here has turned out to be beautiful! It's sunny, temps in the low 80s, lower humidity. It's usually nice here when we can finally ditch our typical 8 month Florida heat spell.

I did have a good weekend. On Saturday I went out and bought a cattley (strawberry) guava and a cassava plant. Now, do I have enough space in my yard to plant them?
