Good Sunday evening/night Paul, Frankie, and Gary!
Paul, I'd love to take a shower with that man!

Gary. I guess your climate, and possibly your soil, severely limit what you can grow. Sometimes you have to work with what you've been given. I'm sorry you're having dizziness problems again.
I had an exciting weekend as promised. First, I am tickled pink by some things blooming in my garden. My pomegranate finally bloomed after struggling for several years. It's a single brilliant crimson-orange blossom. My coffee plant has about a dozen small white blossoms which have a nice fragrance. And I have an amaryllis with deep blood red blooms that are about to open for the first time in about five years. It's a different variety than the ones that bloomed a month or two ago.
OK, now the good stuff. I went to the Rare Fruit Council Plant Sale Saturday. Since I don't have room for large trees any more, I bought three herbs and shrubs-- elderberry, beauty berry (both of which are native), and rosemary. I also bought a bag of 0-3-16 fertilizer for my fruit trees, and I got a surprise. I opened up my utility room to put the fertilizer there, only to see that the hurricane shutters for my doors had been knocked over. I was about to put them back up, but then I saw an opossum lying in the corner looking at me. I couldn't put my fertilizer bad in its usual place, so I laid it just inside the utility room door.
I couldn't decided of which day to attend Pride Fest, so I bought tickets for both days. They had a lot of booths there, and I met a lot of people I know. There were a lot of drag queens on Saturday, but today was mostly singers and performers and bands. And they have Covid shots, so I went ahead and got a booster on Saturday, my 5th shot.
I enjoyed watching the parade this morning. They had the usual contingents of community groups, drag queens, companies, etc. It was great being with all of my fellow LGBTQ+ people, to be reminded that we indeed have a strong and vibrant community here.
