are you afraid to die?

honestly, no, because it's going to happen regardless whether i like or not. i think it's good that i don't know when i'm going to die just like how terminally ill people are told that they have 3 months to live or people on death row are given an execution date. i like surprises.

what i'm afraid of is that i'll die not doing the things that i wanted to do while i was living such as having sex, my first kiss, owning a house, traveling to see whatever, skydiving, and a whole lot of other things. that's about it.

If I had to leave the theatre to use the men's room, I might be relieved, but I would be annoyed that I'm missing some of the film.

I believed this most of my adult life. Then I lost the love of my life after 33yrs. and now I have to believe in an afterlife because the possibility of being with him again keeps me sane. I know it is not likely but what do I have to lose? If there isn't an afterlife and I won't be with him again I won't know the difference, I'll be dead.

Surely, but no one can prove that afterlife doesn't exist. Nor can anybody prove the reverse. And maybe in afterlife conscience can persist.

For the question, I'm not really afraid to die, more afraid of how it will be. If it is after many years in very bad health, poor and alone, death may even be a relief...

Truthfully, I don't really know.

I have came out of two life or death predicaments with a feeling of triumph. I always thought if I didnt, I could at least get this 'ultimate peaceful feeling' they've been describing to me.

I tend to leave things up to chance. I find I feel less disappointed in general that way.

Death is eventual and certain. I am not afraid of death, but I hopefully do not have to experience in the near future, still plenty for me to do.

I fear becoming injured and suffering a permanent disability that renders me unable to survive without 24-7 care being given. I also fear not being able to help my parents if something happens to them.

To myself though, if I die... why would it bother me? I'd already be past the point of worrying about it

As far as death is concerned....getting back on topic.... I'm not scared of it...however...I think the feelings on it come down to what a person feels/believes in/etc prior to "it" (death), personally....I know in any school of thought with regard to religion.... I'm condemned. Personally I'm afraid that I have to face that condemnation (should a "maker exist)...but until I have living/tangible proof that I need to be afraid...I won't and I will live my life as is.
