EastofEden, Yes, in my experience of 40 years it is most common for porn stars, strippers, and a laundry list of camp followers of porn to make extra money? Some big name A-list actors have come up this way. It is as old as human history. Sorry, if my answer disappoints you.

No worries..not at all disappointed..just curious. As long as there are no animals or children involved...and everyone consents...I am good...and I have no judgements really about what anyone else chooses to do with their bodies...or who they have sex with..

I was just curious. I went to a party once when I was young...but legal... (not paid) and there were maybe five famous guys there..three of them were famous to everyone...the other two were models or porn stars from After Dark so probably only gay men knew them....not sure what they were about really..and the guy who invited me wanted to take pics of me and this one After Dark guy naked in bed....not doing anything sexual....it was weird...

I didn't like it at all at the party....it was creepy..so when I heard them talking about this party after the bar closed...and one of the famous guys one of them "got stuck with"...I just wondered if that was a common thing? ...and do they actually like it or do they have to plug their nose and suck it up?...and are they "expected" to do this?

I am curious about pretty much everything:-)

Has anyone asked about "prank porn", stuff like Bait Bus and Un-glory hole? Instead of going away prank porn seems to be doing just fine! Somebody is paying for this kind of crap, and the idea of "open season on str8 guys", makes me sick.

I'm always being assured that everything on-camera is staged and the people are actors "in" on the plot.

Isn't that the usual attitude that covers all porn?
Here's the other response, "if you don't like it Edd, don't watch it".

Guess I'm dumb enough to think that people inside the industry have influence on that same industry. What I'm reading leaves me with the impression that guys who make porn never go online and surf porn, just to see what the competition is up to.

Does this mean it's up to customers? The only option to get rid of prank porn is to cut-off the money?

Thus ends my rant . . . thank you.

I bartended with a porn star for awhile. I don't remember his porn name...I know his non porn name was John. I didn't see his movies but I guess he made a lot of them and had one scene in particular I heard lots of guys talk about...

One night one of his friends stayed in when we were doing our closing work and they were talking about their side job from porn which was being paid to be party guests....and they were talking about who they had sex with (they were famous guys so I won't say their names)...like they were also party favors but I got the impression that they had a choice if they would have sex with them or not...

My question..is this common for porn stars to make extra money?

Sure. Most of the work escorts do doesn't often involve sex. It's common for parties in Hollywood to have a lot of hot young guys who are just paid to hang out and look hot.

The reason that stuff keeps getting made is that it sells. I don't get it (but yes, it's all scripted and all planned and the guys have been STD tested and paid and have signed their release forms before the shoot starts), but I don't get why anyone would have sex with a woman and yet... Straight porn is big business. Go figure.

Ahh, so it is scripted! Guess that's why its called acting, lol.

I surfed over to TitanMen the other day. OMG!!! My monitor wasn't big enough.

What the hell you feeding those guys? Geez, I'm old enough to remember when TitanMen were adorable and cute. Now they look like muscle monsters. Dude, you can start filming porn and a Mr. Olympia contest will break out!

Do the guys bust a double bicep just for you to worship? (if you lie, I can tell).

Haha... Well I'm into bears and red heads myself but I will admit the muscles are fun to look at. We do manage to find some big guys.

(Hey, speaking of which, when porn is shot in a rented auto body shop, factory, etc..., I wonder if the real workers are aware of the gay sex that just went on there on the weekend? Imagine a really hot, but homophobic straight guy being blissfully unaware that just a day or two ago, two guys were going at it hardcore right in his work area! :p)

I mean... it's rare that anyone would shoot in a rented auto body shop. Those are open 7 days a week and the rental on a place like that would cost a fortune. I've done a few mechanic movies and we've always just covered existing spaces we had into looking like auto body shops.

In Titanmen's Grease Monkey, we used a friend's sex toy factory, drove in the truck moved around things to look as close to it as possible and went with that. The motorcycle scene in that movie DID, actually, use a friend's motorcycle service place, but honestly, it wasn't worth the trouble getting all the gear and props and crew and performers to Oakland just to use a small section that honestly could have been anywhere.

I also shot (but did not direct) a few scenes like that for Cocksure Men and it was the same... we used the garage in our DVD warehouse building, added as many props as we could, things on the walls, set dressing...made it look like an auto body shop that wasn't going to cost us $5000 to rent for the day. It's a lot cheaper to create sets than rent real locations, usually.

HOWEVER... the biggest question is "when we do rent a space, are the employees aware we were there?" and the answer is usually "yes."

And of course... we're like Burning Man. We leave the place cleaner than we found it. We have a huge post-scene clean-up to remove any stains and condoms laying around, any lube spills, any hand prints... we want to be welcome back.

Do you stick a item into the filming set that appears in multiple episodes as a running gag?

Ha... ok so I used to do that all the time with a really bad Ikea framed print. I'd throw that into the background all the time. Often if it made no sense at all.

At Titanmen we're in the middle of developing a sort of "Cinematic Universe" where characters from different movies bleed over into other ones. Wait for a bit before I can do a big reveal, but we'll see characters from our current (rather huge hit) movie called Cauke For President show up in other movies and in two weeks we're releasing a movie that's going to have a couple of characters that will recur in other movies. PLUS we have props from some movies end up in others... I'll have Cauke For President posters show up in other movies and you'll see a lot of easter eggs that call out other movies and yeah... a few running gags.

We put a huge amount of work into the movies we're doing, but we like to have fun.

OH... watch for things like the radio morning comedy hosts played by me and Don Mike to make appearances in a few more scenes (we don't appear physically, just in audio clips playing on the radio) and I'm trying to work in a sort of continuing story of a jail break that has news clips about the movie Jail Break.

To date, what would you say has been the most difficult, or challenging production to work on, so far?

Francois Sagat's Incubus.

We worked on that movie for weeks. The days would start at 6 AM and go to 2AM, we never really stopped shooting. It was unbelievable. We pulled out every stop we had... Green Screen effects, rotoscope, costumes by Charlie Le Mindu, we had a rather stunning rope tying scene that took us 2 days to shoot, we had a huge dance club sequence, we had a section where Francois walked naked around in the desert and then the next day he had to do the whole thing over again but wearing a camera on his head so we could show both external and first-person views of the same shot.

We had to build a sex club, we had incredible makeup and prosthetics, we had wild effects like Christopher Daniels walking backwards into the pool carrying a tray of wine glasses so we could run the video backwards and make it look like he walked out dry. We shot one scene with nothing but spotlights at midnight... we had an underwater wrestling scene that required three camera men... we had a scene we shot outside in a lighting storm.

We had a scene where he was attacked in the middle of the night by a monster under his quilt that we had to shoot from directly above which meant building a scaffold to hold the camera and shoot directly down at him.

It was intense and Francois, Brian and me spent pretty much the whole time together shooting it. I was mentally and physically spent by the end but that movie is incredible.
