I'm probably asking the wrong person this question, but I'm interested to hear your take on this?

Why are so few bodybuilders openly gay? There definitley are a good amount of gay bodybuilders out there, but they always seem to come out after they call it quits from bodybuilding on a professional level. Case in point being Skye Woods....He was a bodybuilder who did gay4pay, then he retired from pro-bodybuilding and subsequently came out of the closet.

Sports, especially the very "masculine" ones are notoriously homophobic. They stay in the closet because they'd win fewer contests and make less money if they came out.

Google Bob Paris. Very beautiful bodybuilder, perhaps the most beautiful. Anyway, he's up there. Came out. His career tanked but I'm not sure it tanked entirely because he came out, as I think he made a decision at about that time that he didn't want to get big at all costs in order to please the judges and the fans--or so I've been told. (I used to know a player in bodybuilding publishing, and have an older friend who's been going to competitions for years. I understand that some portion of the fan base is gay.)

very often those sites do use really bad, really obvious and totally fake-looking fake cum, yes.

especially those sites that advertise "giant loads" since not everyone can cum buckets.

Almost 100% of the time if you see posed stills with cum, it's just fake cum like the things you mention above.

I should point out that I don't use fake cum shots. If we have to come back the next day to get a cumshot... we do. I also don't do bareback movies.

Meh. "bareback" doesn't really mean what it did before. HIV is much more preventable with PrEP and people have much more of an understanding of what the risks are. I still don't think it makes a difference. The people who actually buy porn want hot men fucking and really don't care about the condoms. The only people I know who go on and on about how "it would be better bareback" all tell me they pirate their movies off Bit Torrents.

Many people gave me shit when I did do bareback movies back at the last studio I worked for but most people didn't realize that while I was there, I slowly weaned the studio off doing bareback entirely and we became a condom-only studio. When they went back to shooting some bareback, I left and took my current job.

I mean... There are a few studios trying to do that. I'm making movies with a story but I know what my job is so I'm not trying to spend hours telling a story and then throw some sex at the end.

I don't movie movies with sex, I make porn with a plot.

Oddly enough I've only really been employed full time
By four studios. Bedfellow 2003-2004, fratmen 2005-2008, jake cruise 2008-2011 and Titanmen 20011- present. I was also a freelance director and producer for a few months in 2011, and while I planned to keep doing that, Titanmen drove a big truck of money up to my house. (Or... More accurately, they offered me a job which was irresistible to me. I was enjoying being freelance but the chance to work with a studio I loved so much with the flexibility to work from anywhere and take side jobs was too great a chance to turn down)

I'm now director of production for Titanmen which means I direct the movies, plan the actual shoots (production run logistics are done by Keith Webb who is head of production). I plan the shots and do all the CGI and graphics and special shots like the drone or steady cam shots... Think of it like Keith doing all the leg work of planning movies, casting, booking flights and locations and the daily schedules and I do all the creative parts. It's a great symbiotic relationship and the quality of our movies shows that. Best job I've ever had.

There's been discussion in the porn forum about whether the bareback videos are hotter than the videos with condoms.

Some of the studios that have switched to condomless shoots seem to have last their way on producing quality porn. The problem is particularly noticeable for studios that produce shorter clips vs the studios that problem longer videos. In the porn forum, some of the threads have been split into yearly editions and it's particularly noticeable when you look back at the older threads vs the yearly editions after the studios switched to bareback.

Without naming particular studios, it seems like the move to bareback also coincides with a loss of better models and an increase in the use of models from eastern Europe or models that also seem to be in some sort of financial straits/legal trouble.

Well... ok so first... The return to bareback at Jake Cruise media also coincided with my leaving and going freelance for condom-only studios and within a couple months, being hired by Titanmen.

I do know that every studio that went bareback after being a condom studio hasn't seen the rise in income that the bareback-or-bust fans promise them. Some of those studios have had to out-source their production to, you're right, Eastern Europe or South America where the quality of men ends up being lower and the production quality is a big ol' stank.

While the recent years have meant all sorts of changes for many of us in production, most of the big studios haven't really been affected by that as much as we have lower budgets, more digital setups and therefore a different kind of production style and schedule. Now that we have to have a new scene every week, we need to shoot faster and shoot more and turn it around faster. It's like being on a conveyor belt of death sometimes.

as far as big corporations, the only bareback owned by the big corporations are sites like Sean Cody that had gone bareback already (and they went bareback not for the bareback itself, for them it was about working with straight guys who were unable to stay hard for long and going through 80 condoms to shoot a scene, wasting 20 seconds of a 45-seocnd boner getting it on and how the guys were able to stay hard longer without them).
