Attack on Canadian Parliament...

I think you might be speculating there.

(BTW: Kallipolis warns us “I knew nothing but shadows and I thought them to be real.” ~The Picture of Dorian Grey )

Lets be honest - they were not going to give him a passport were they! He was a mentally ill, homeless junkie.

It feels more like you want this to have been a terrorist attack Pat because it would suit your world view.

How is the poor thing? I heard that he's been separated from his body ever since that nasty argument.

OTTAWA — Prime Minister Stephen Harper was hiding in a broom closet while a gunfight raged in Parliament.

The Conservative caucus was meeting Wednesday in a large room right next to the hallway where guards gunned down Michael Zehaf-Bibeau. The man had charged into the building after murdering Cpl. Nathan Cirillo moments earlier at the National War Memorial.

Only one police officer and an oak door separated Zehaf-Bibeau from the Conservative caucus. Fortunately, the shooter continued down the hallway and did not turn toward the room.

Inside, Harper’s security detail was not with him. According to multiple sources he was rushed into a small closet.

One source suspected the space was perhaps a secure panic room set up for emergencies.

But an inspection shows it is a typical storage closet containing things like electrical boxes, a step ladder and a folding chair.

The rest of the story.

I would suggest to you that xenophiles are more dangerous than xenophobes.

I suggest to you that Michael Zehaf-Bibeau and Martin Couture-Rouleau were both xenophiles.

I think if I may resort to a somewhat tortured phrase, some writers have talked about "oikophobia" - repulsion toward one's own kind - and it better explains what was going on here.

Just the other day you spoke about how you liked English people to me - does that make you also a xenophile?

I like to think I can like things without taking up a gun, a knife, a bomb, a sword, a janbiya, a toyota and/or other lethal weapons.

This is sad Canada has never experienced this level of terrorism before. I blame Stephen Harper for not having better security at the Parliament.

This is different the terrorism took place on Canadian soil.I doubt most Canadians care about the air India thing.

Probably racism. Most of the Canadian victims had descended from immigrants from India. The terrorists blew up the wrong Canadians for us to care?

I remember it.

You're sad because it hasn't happened before?

It has happened before, in 1984, when paranoid schizophrenic Denis Lortie killed three people and wounded 13 in the Quebec National Assembly building in Quebec City. See Denis Lortie (Wikipedia).

The legislature’s sergeant-at-arms, René Jalbert, talked him down and was awarded Canada's Cross of Valour for his actions.

The YouTube clip's narrator calls it Canada's National Assembly building. It isn't. It's the Quebec legislature building.
