Ban Scat Pics from Hot Topics?

I'm asking about this because I was surprised by a thread with a scat video (someone taking a shit) last night. The thread title was innocuous, so there was no way I could have known and avoided it. The OP commented that lots of people had looked at it but no one had commented.

Well, with the benefit of hindsight I have to say that I overreacted. I took his comment about no one commenting for a taunt and his posting of scat under an innocuous thread title as a deliberate attempt to trick people (me) into looking at something disgusting that they (I) would not knowingly choose to watch.

None of that was justified by anything except how upset I was. Naturally he responded in kind and now I have someone on my Ignore list (and I suspect I'm on his as well) with whom I could have remained civil had I not lost my temper.

That part's completely my fault. But I do think there's a problem. Frontal nudity is banned from HT, presumably so that people can have discussions without necessarily looking at it. I think scat should go in the same category.

So what I'm proposing is the following:
  1. Pictures or videos depicting shit should not be allowed in Hot Topics.
  2. Because people make mistakes, threads focused on such content should be moved to the Fetish forum as soon as the Mods are made aware of them.
  3. Scat pictures added as comments to existing HT threads should be deleted by the Mods.

What do you think? Any civil comments, agreeing or disagreeing, very welcome. Please stay on topic, though.

But please note I'm not saying we shouldn't DISCUSS poop on HT. Only that PICTURES and VIDEOS that show it shouldn't be allowed here.

I'd be against making any rules about what can be discussed on Hot Topics.

I think I know which video you mean and I don't think that it belongs in the fetish forum. The fetish forum isn't just a dumping ground for things that most people don't like. Maybe the best way to deal with this would be a warning tag for 'nasty' stuff (nudes, scat, nasty medical stuff) that can be put in thread titles like the on-topic one.

If we had that then we could have nudes in HT too. I don't see the point in restricting nudes in HT because we have nude adverts. If people really need to use this website without seeing naked pictures then I think there are ways to use the site with only text. That way most people could enjoy the nudeness and the lazy people could still read JUB at work.

That wasn't a scat video.

there wasn't anything sexual about it, it was gross-out humor, for sure... but not "scat" in the accepted definition of the term.

I don't think that anyone is getting off on that. It wasn't meant to be a fetish video, it was a gross stunt by a frat boy and I personally thought it was hilarious. Gross. Totally. But I laughed my head off.
 
I would argue that the video I posted was about a college kid jumping into a lake whilst taking a dump. While I suppose that could be sexual for some it was not intended as sex and not interpreted on the national comedy central show "Tosh.0" as sexually related. It was a stunt. I found it amusing and wanted to share.

Now there are several meanings to scat yet in here and it appears to be the desired denied medium would be sexually related. Anyone rational human being would come to the same conclusion reviewing the video in HOT TOPICS posted here.

I personally believe some folks are overly sensitive and refuse to read information before clicking on a video. The video CLEARLY states it is a cannonball "dookie". While I understand there is a language barrier I don't think "dookie" resist translation.

So to clarify my vote...since SCAT is sexually related when referring to this forum i would agree sexually related SCAT videos should be located in the fetish forum. However a funny video played on a national cable television show that is simply funny and in NO way what-so-ever sexual should be fine for a Hot Topic discussion.

Finally, I may have over-reacted as well and for that I am sorry. However I do respond to aggression very quickly. it is my personality and not meant to be against any one person. However when insulted I react as I suspect most of us would do....

Oh and BTW you better be pristine clean to fuck around with me because if I hit oil while drilling then the game is up.........

There was nothing about either to imply that you were about to see someone take a shit. Unless the word 'dookie' has a meaning I wasn't aware of.

I agree with the sentiment that the fetish board isn't a dumping ground but also feel that I've seen a lot of things here that I would have skipped over had I been warned. Typically I don't say anything because I don't like the idea of everyone feel too 'censored' here, but I think more labels for thread titles would be nice.

Someone posted pictures of infected nipples a few days ago and I definitely didn't need to see those >_<. I don't remember all of the details of that thread, but it's just an example.

Hmm, I can appreciate the objection about the fetish forum. Not sure what to do about shit-containing threads posted here then. Any ideas what to do with them? I don't want to be saying people's threads should just be deleted. If people want to look at shit-videos I have no objection; I'd just like to be able to avoid them myself.
 
Scatplay and pics/vids featuring poop are different. If it's meant to be sexual in nature, then yes, obviously it should go to fetish. But poop jokes and funny content is something that's acceptable in a public setting... you can get fake poop in any joke store! Kids laugh about it. Poop is fine.
 
I say no. I'm not into scat, and pooping does kind of gross me out. That's me though. And as soilwork said the video in question wasn't sexual, just a gross out video. Although I haven't seen it. Nor do I want to. Haha.

I guess it would be cool if people were to say "Hey there's poop in this video btw." But I guess that's up to them.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, post all the poop you want. But if you post poop too much, I'm probably not going to like you very much. Which might be fine with you. But I don't think that there should be a ban.
 
You need to also ban those horrible photos of diseases, injuries, disasters and suffering that appear from time to time on this forum. I don't understand why some members think it's "cool" or "hip" to post disturbing images, but it happens pretty regularly here.

Maybe set Hot Topics to only allow links to photos and not show the actual photo.
