Thanks for bringing up Emotion. It got bad reviews, but I just love it. Especially Heart, Don't Change My Mind and You're a Step in the Right Direction. Streisand and Mellencamp - who'd'a thunk it? I also love Isn't This Better and If I Love Again from Funny Lady and the medley of A House is Not a Home and One Less Bell to Answer from Barbara Joan Streisand. Barbra was a big part of my growing up process and I'll always love her. :)

Ooo !

I forgot about 'Higher Ground'.

Try to ignore that God-awful "Tell Him" duet w/Celine Dion.

The rest of the CD is really good, albeit in a 'new agey' sort of way.

My fav is the combo of "The Water is Wide/Deep River". According to the liner notes, the vocal track was recorded in one take with no edits. If this is true, then it's one of the most stunning performances I've ever heard.

Tear-inducing. (I'll admit it. ;))

Check it out if you haven't heard it.

My favorites are both of the Broadway albums. Her duet with Don Johnson holds a special place in my heart as it was the first time I saw her perform live shortly after the album came out.

So much vocal delivery in both songs. She held a 10-second note in "Woman In Love", the longest unaltered note held by a soloist in a number-one song. Her vocal range and ability to hold low and high notes for extended periods is unmatchable.
