Big Brother 13 CBS

Tasting some bitter pills over here. Russell Hantz didn't win because nobody liked his social game and his sneaky nack stabbing and thus Dan SLeesling end up in the same spot as Russell. I still think Ian played a better game and with Brit he was very close so I was surprised (not really) at all the talk during jury about Dan's play being ok even if it was dirty. Dan's plea to the jury was his same old ass kissing pompousness. Got him nothing but a chewed lip from Dani who today will fall off the end of the world wailing because she is not going to like anything that was said about her and especially the rotten things Dan said about her and did to her and she allowed it.

I was jumping for joy at Ian's win. One of the best wins ever for me.

Glad Ian won. Dan's over confidence was a major turnoff, and his comment on what he said about swearing on the bible, his wife, etc. - "Oh I will just go to confession". There was no reason to go that far. Some people might be pissed that Dan didn't win, but I agree with the poster above. You have to factor in social game too. You go around and backstab and lie to everyone, they aren't going to vote for you to win money!

I'm glad Ian won. I just don't like Dan. He's a classic schoolyard bully. He talked down to everyone, ordered them around like they owed him something. These people were just stupid letting him get away with it.

But, I'm happy they finally saw it. Even if it did take them until the final episode.

Well Britney blew my theory out of the water in her backyard interview with Jeff.

Britney: "You could have put Dan next to a bottle of ketchup and the ketchup would've won the game. No one was going to vote for Dan -- no one -- except for maybe me."

If that's true, then thank god it was Ian against Dan in the finals because I would NOT want Danielle to win. She's great crazy entertainment on the feeds but like Rachel last year, a win for Danielle would leave a bad taste in my mouth. Plus that would feel like a slap in the face to Janelle.

I love Janelle but she could use a slap in the face now and then. It might waken her emotions and give her some insight into why she is a 3 time loser.

Dan in his final speech was a cold fish of empty praise to his evictees.

Where are those interviews from last night? I am looking forward to Dani's coming of truth.

^^^ It was so obvious to everyone save Dani that Ian was gone but she went ahead and put Shane in danger by pulling dan off and Shane should be majorly pissed at her rather than Dan. Now that she knows what Dan said to Shane let her wallow in her muck raking lies and pompous deceits and chest pounding. Good on you dani. You did good girl. Live with it.

When Danielle won that PoV and asked Dan, "What do you want me to do?" I lost any possible respect for the idiot.

She absolutely deserved what happened to her because she followed Dan right over the edge while constantly complaining about how bad he was treating her.

There was one worse BB player I recall, Lawon. "I'm gonna offer myself up for eviction because I think I'm gonna come back with some special powers."

Not to mention giving him Part 1 of the Final HOH. She really was his bitch this season.

I'm a little sorry to see the season end. Even though he didn't win, Dan's scorched earth gameplay was something to behold (especially on the feeds the night of his huge comeback). Without him, this season wouldn't have been as must see. EVERY big moment happened because of him and unlike people like Dick Donato, they were big moments that worked. Just like Dr Will on All Stars, he tripped at the finish line, but that doesn't change the fact that he made a great run for it up until then. And unlike Will, he made it to the finals again. The only player thus far to do that twice.

Now can we please get a season without returning players next year? Or are they really doing another All Stars?

In his podcast interview with Entertainment Weekly, Ian said even if Dan had won HOH, evicted him and taken Danielle, he still would've voted for Dan to win and he thinks Dan would've won against Danielle. He disagrees with Britney and said from what he heard from the jury at the after party, they really didn't respect Danielle and didn't think she deserved to win.

From what I can tell listening to all the interviews, I think it could've gone either way in that scenario. Dan would've gotten Britney/Ian/Joe, Danielle would've gotten Frank/Shane/Jenn and Ashley would've been the deciding vote.

Either way, Dan still had a shot against Danielle whereas he had no shot against Ian.

As you see with Survivor there seems to be a penchant for bringing back a familiar face to the show. I think BB will continue to do that as well though I, too, would love to see a season of crazy newbies who play it out without A Pro telling how to and then screwing them over as in the last 2 seasons - though a slightly different outcome this time.

I will agree that Dan played a good game in the way that he did it but honestly he got to the point where I could hardly stand seeing him on screen. Granted I don't watch the feeds but I did watch BB AD every night or next day. I don't think you have to give up who you really are to play this game. I think you can make good alliances and play the game socially and in the contests. I don't like seasons where someone sits on their ass for 50 days and then starts to play. I didn't like Jeff and Jordan for that reason. Like in Survivor I want to see people compete socially and physically.

And Survivor is loaded with homophobes this year in Jeff Kent, Facts of Lifer, and the burn guy. They may never say anything on the show but there is plenty out there already that they have said and done.

Pete and Malcolm - how good does it get?

I agree. I don't mind seeing returning players on BB or Survivor as long as it's an All-Star season or All-Newbie season. Mixing the two just doesn't work and the production slants are always geared toward the veterans who you already have a vested interest in.

Ashley being awesome/loopy when she cast her vote was my favorite moment of the finale.

I have to say that this trend of comparing Dan to Russell I'm seeing everywhere is VERY OFF. Russell was NOT I repeat NOT a good social gamer. He was loud. He constantly said he was the best. Everyone hated him and wanted to get rid of him. He was carried by continually stumbling on idols and having two players smart enough to bouy him and drag him to the end. Everyone liked Dan until he slit their throats. He befriend and manipulated them. They looked to him for game advice and they did his bidding. Many people had a shot to take him out and didn't even try. He never had to depend upon found immunity. Dan actually played a very good game. Russel played so poorly (twice) that people drug him along as a sure bet victory (twice) and it worked (twice). He was never the controlling force CBS tried to make him to be if you look at the internal dynamics of that season. He just wasn't.

Bottom line: Dan actually won one of his seasons (by unanimous vote) while Russell didn't come close to winning either of his. OHHHHKAYYY?

I had to work so I just saw the finale tonight. It's the first time in a few years that I haven't seen the finale live. I'm so glad Ian won!

I had a feeling that Dan's nasty gameplay might come back to bite him, but finding out that he may have thrown F2 to Ian and that he was going to take Ian to F2 regardless seems really strange. I can't believe he thought he had a shot against Ian, especially since he tried to get him out that one week where he ended up getting Joe out.

I really don't like this format they've been doing for the past four years. The finale always feels rushed, the live jury questioning is always lame, and the last juror never has any time to talk to the rest of the jury and figure out how they want to vote. I wish they'd go back to the old format so we could actually see some real jury deliberations.

I so agree.

I'm hoping next season is a fresh season with all newbies, but somehow I doubt it will be.

From the start, I wanted Brit or Dan to win, so Dan getting to the end was nice to see.
At the beginning, I didn't really think Ian could make it to the end, but as time went on, and get got into the groove of the game, I knew he would be a contender, so he was my replacement for Brit when she left.

Seeing Dan and Ian in the end was like my dream pick for this season, I really agreed with Brit when she said she wanted Danielle to be 3rd, since Dan and Ian both deserved to win more than her, so I'm content with the way this season ended.

Now can we please get a season without returning players next year? Or are they really doing another All Stars?

Amen to that! I loved All Stars, but I want a few more all Newbies season before we get another All Stars.

FYI: Over the course of two complete seasons on Big Brother Dan never received even one vote towards his eviction.

You know, I really don't care if people vote cuz they're bitter because that's part of the game. It's a totally valid reason to vote/note vote for someone because you like/hate them or they pissed you off in the game. So I don't have a problem with Frank and Shane voting against Dan because he screwed them over. That's how the game goes.

What bugs me is when you get these total idiots like Jenn who has said in interviews that she wasn't going to vote for Dan because she "wanted someone who hadn't won before to win." That's almost as bad as the "give it to the person who most needs the money" malarky. Or like last season when Shelly -- who despised Rachel with good reason, and who was one of the many people Rachel acted like a complete asshole to -- voted the way she felt the Jordeff fans wanted her to vote. At least voting against someone because you don't like them is being true to yourself. But Jenn and Shelly are true to what?

Way to be pointless all the way to the end there ladies.

Wow. Shane really IS an entitled ass. From the after-party, he's still bitter about Dan.

Shane: "I could care less if I never see him or talk to him again. He just took $500,000 away from me that I was going to use to take my family out of bankruptcy and he did that all out of a lie."

Um...so it's Dan's function to just roll over and let you win the money? And if he hadn't evicted you, it's a guarantee you would've won? Get over yourself Shane! Jesus, I thought you were better than this.
