many gays are at odds with their sexuality

that is part of the process

self hatred is no excuse for coming to a gay site and knocking gays

that being said...

there is no reason as well, why bisexuals cant integrate more into the glbt community

i am honestly beginning to think that the real reason that they hold themselves away from the whole community is because they are ashamed of us

and if we arent good enough to hang out with on the street because we dont act the right way, then we shouldnt be good enough to sleep with in secret or to talk to on the internet in secret

it is precisely that level of duality that is, quite frankly, exausting and offensive to alot of people here

the method of the presentation seems to be the issue

i honestly dont know what to make of all this, but it doesnt seem productive

Let me be clear about somethings: I did not claim that all or even most self-identified bisexuals at JUB bash gays. Nor did I claim that all the gay bashing threads were started by or responded to in the main by self-identifying bisexuals at JUB. Nor do I believe the new Bisexuality Discussion Forum will necessarily be a place where gays are bashed. I made a SATIRICAL suggestion in the opening post, because I am sick of the "I'm butcher than you" and "I can't stand nelly fags" threads (however they're worded) that have appeared all too often in Hot Topics in recent months. Though it may be completely unintentional, those posts are meanspirited and hurtful on a message board primarily populated by gay men.

So there's going to be a flame-free zone bi forum, and the other flames-allowed bi forum will continue to exist? Or is the new and improved, completely safe and harmless forum going to replace the nasty old free-for-all forum??

Lots of "Those fags are all so girly and us big Manly Bi Men are so above them all" threads.

WWWhat'shisname wasted no time making a thead about how he walks into a gay bar and everyone thinks he's a straight guy in the wrong place (that NEVER happens. Ever. Only in gay porns and the over-active imaginations of men who think they're "straight acting").

EVeryone chimed in and went on about how gay men are all extremely feminine and bitchy and cliquy gay men are and someone said gay men wear glitter and wings.

Quasar 21, in responding to my thread, seemed to be saying the old bisexual forum threads will "migrate" to the new forum, once they are "cleaned up" of flaming comments. At least that's what I took from his post.

LOL It seems as if my suggestion in the opening post of this thread has come to fruition, but, since I never have to open that Forum, everything is good.

"No flame" means you can't make personal attacks on the other posters. It doesn't mean you can't express your opinion on the topic.

I don't think it will work -- there are way too many bigots on this website.

Lots of interesting thoughts expressed on this thread. My own experiences tell me that there is just as much bigotry within the gay community as there is within society in general. For example, it seems to me that there are lots of gays that look down on bisexuals. They say we are afraid to use the term gay. I find myself attracted to both women and men; so that makes me bisexual. I am sure there are plenty of guys out there that find it hard to accept that concept. I don't go around bashing or saying negative things about gays; so I would prefer that I am not considered less because I identify as a bisexual.

I would agree with the thoughts expressed that JUB members shouldn't go around bashing each other.
