Black lives matter succeed in Police erasure.

this is just plain wrong

I remember reading about how they stopped the pride parade and hijacked it last year for 30 minutes

After the vote, Pride Toronto's board co-chair Alica Hall told the newspaper the group still welcomes free police security that is offered.

Sorry but fuck these people and Toronto Pride for siding with them, and I hate saying that as I love Toronto but it's an example of the twisted liberal mind in full effect.

The BLM asshats have managed to help to set Race-Relations™ back by at least 30 years ... racist Nazi cunts.

"There was nothing there now except a single Commandment. It ran:

ALL ANIMALS ARE EQUAL
BUT SOME ANIMALS ARE MORE EQUAL THAN OTHERS"

"Twelve voices were shouting in anger, and they were all alike. No question, now, what had happened to the faces of the pigs. The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which."

George Orwell, 1944

I understand their point....but I don't understand what they hope to accomplish with their actions....

Over the years...I had a handful of incidents when I chose to directly confront the police on my own because they hassled the patrons and/or the bar where I worked.

I took action getting their badge numbers and reporting them to the Chief of Police...and I got a dialogue going.

There was no internet..no "group" behind me...and I did get assurances and action ...kinda fast too. People forget..they work for US....we pay their salary....

.....and I think there were other individuals and groups who worked with the police who subsequently had officers take a sensitivity and educational course in dealing with LGBT citizens and establishments.

I was comfortable using MY voice...but if I was part of a movement with anarchist elements speaking on my behalf...I would have declined to use my voice....because I wanted a bridge...not a war....

...and I didn't give a shit about their approval or acceptance..I wanted equality and respect under the law.....that was the bottom line for me..still is....

I also accomplished what I wanted to accomplish.....we didn't get asshole individual cops coming in and harassing people because they knew they would be called on it. It didn't mean that they liked us any better...it meant that they got a reminder that we were citizens who deserved the same respect they gave anyone else...

I think maybe the individual voice has as much power as the "group" sometimes...because when the "group" talks...people only seem to walk away with and hear the most outrageous and fringe demands from the group...the bullies in the group always rise to the top....WHY do the other people in the "group" allow that? We have a bully for a President now..took alot of people to allow him that platform.

The gay community worked very hard and got us to the point where cops want to march in the parade, instead of shutting it down. Cops are infinitely more welcome than a militant hate group.

BLM is also destroying race relations, another thing which previous generations have worked very hard for. Tell me, why are they being taken so seriously?

Because the new Pride organizers are quite stupid have no back bone. I don't know why BLM chose Pride to target. If blacks feel neglected by the LGBT community, maybe because blacks around the world slaughter gays?

I wasn't aware they did.

He likes to take one-off news articles and pretend various things are institutional. Using fringes as an example of institutionality doesn't a coherent argument make.

'Fraid I can't say the same on that 'I'm most oppressed as a white guy' feelin'; the status change when people assume I'm a cis (I'm obv white) guy is huge, even when considering being read as a gender-non conformin' queer & disabled white guy. The higher consideration/respect in both public and private's absolutely gigantic. Hell, I can't really conceptualize how good someone like Mikey m'boy's got it; The change in others interacting with me is astronomical so's I can only imagine how many degrees up of respect and consideration an abled bodied gender conformin' guy has.

'Course, then he opens his mouth. Don't think he's realized that for continued consideration and respect ya have to give it to others without strings.

I like EastofEden's post; makes lotsa good sense.

Regarding BLM and the no police floats I'm a bit confused. I wouldn't agree with them wearing uniform on the floats as they're not on duty and may or may not represent the precinct's lgbt official (and unofficial) policies and actions they're a part of. By all means, however, showcase that lgbt people are in all walks of life and some in the force intend to serve and protect everybody. I expect their presence will return to the parade if/when the precincts step up their game on lack o'harrassment, ect.

Oh, so you DO know how stereotyping works. Kinda just like how BLM paint all cops as racist murderers and have them banned from public events.

Tell me, why are they being taken so seriously?
Because many people have been afraid of being called 'racist' for opposing that particular divisive, anti-white, hate-group. But the 'race-card' has been so over-played in recent years that it has lost its power and many people really don't care anymore. The rise of the fascist right seems to be a direct response to the rise of the fascist left; a plague on both their loathsome houses.

^To be fair, BLM has made some good points about police shooting innocent people.

(I think their tactic with pride is stupid.)

No BLM did not make good points about police shootings. Should we ban all black people from public events ? Look how many people die from guns of black people.

LOL! Why, because I'm right? Hypocrisy works both ways. It's exactly the same thing, toots.

You need to learn the difference between a stereotype and actual statistics. If a float represents an institution that is actively discriminating (as opposed to individuals working for an institution and making it known)......my god, why do I bother with you. You can't even tell the difference between the two.
