'Boy or girl?' Parents raising 'theybies' let kids decide

It is funny that in my own experience, I find women much more accepting of the idea of more complex and fluid gender identification.

A lot of this may be because girls are not put down for being tom-boys, while boys are treated unmercifully if they are sissies.

It must have something to do with males being threatened by the idea that all their maleness does not reside in their penis.

No wonder young kids are so screwed up. I hope your dog turns out well. It stands a better chance than those idiots raising their theybies in the 'People's Republic of Cambridge'. But then most people there are already F'd up!

I was just considering this aspect. I knew more than a few tom boys when growing up. Most people thought that they were 'cute', climbing trees and playing with toy trucks. The girls that I knew were fun play mates and were quite interested in playing games in private.

Guys were not threatened by them and didn't seem to have a need to 'put them in their place'. Most so called alpha males that I have known are all blow and no show. They are loud, rude, crude and stupid. I might add that they are horribly insecure. To them being right just means drowning out others and taking center stage. They have a need to live up to the persona that they either took on or was placed upon them. Most have never been in a fight in their lives, but act like Rambo. I have noticed one thing that they have in common, what I call the "Foghorn, leghorn" effect... they talk over everyone and are as dumb as shit.

They target 'sissies' to strengthen their image in their own minds, because they in their own minds know that they are 'posers'. Putting one's fat ass on a Harley and wearing a dew rag doesn't make a guy more of a man.
I think that the link in the OP is a bit extreme, to me it's normal to say 'boy' or 'girl' that represents genitalia, nature and biology. If the girl wants to build a tree house and the boy wants to make cupcakes, that to me is an expression of interests, not gender.
When a child expresses discomfort with the body that they are in, they should be listened to.

Don't forget, for the past 50 years, after the sexual revolution, women have been defining mens' roles in society and dictating what is and isn't acceptable for our behavior. This just seems more of that. "The hand that rocks the cradle is the hand that rules the world."

Horse shit. This is about control not protecting children, when the govt wants to use a few cents from your taxes to feed a child yall go ape-shit and raise 7 levels of holy hell and I haven't heard nary a peep from your team about those immigrant children held in "detention centers."

Go find children that are physically being abused and help them, otherwise mind your own business and not one will tell you how you should parent your child.

There are many ways a child can be abused, physically is just one of them. And people tell us parents every day how to parent our children, it's called THE LAW. Duh!

Thanks, i'm doing my best to treat him/her with respect, i've made up all sorts of male and female costumes for him/her, we shall see which one he prefers.

Yeah, it's about child rearing and healthy mental development; it's a parent's and a community's moral responsibility. Control? Maybe. Child protection? definitely!!! When a parent is intentionally harming a child by disrupting their natural development, it IS child abuse. Look it up.

Either way, I like to hear logical opposing points of view. Often what a person gets is angry false accusations. TBH, the parents in the link seem nutty to me, while the other extreme of forcing boy and girl roles are just as crazy.
 
One doesn't have to loose their gender in order to break down traditional stereotypes. Both my daughters took construction technology classes in high school and probably know more than most guys on here. I encourage it. Its easier to correct social construct then eons of biological evolution.

The idea that girls taking a construction technology course is even comparable or relevant to discussions on gender identification is ridiculous.
