Hardly the ugliest.

Everyone has their moments when they look better than at other moments.

But someone's outward beauty or 'ugliness' should not be a litmus test as to whether they are worthy or not worthy of being considered to be a 'successful' transsexual.

It is clear that so many people do not really understand gender dysmorphia and transexualism and lash out based on personal prejudices or just plain ignorance.

There is no excuse for ignorance. There is a wealth of information available on the subject.

What we should be striving for is to accord all transgendered people basic respect for their humanity and personal choices and not constantly trying to expose them as freaks or monsters.

It is distressing to read the posts of so many lesbians, gays and bi-sexuals... who are now arrogantly comfortable with the right to be openly acknowledged as full members of society without shame or being considered as mentally ill or moral deviants...where a condition that they don't understand is treated with such derision and contempt. The worst of these posters attempt the same strategy that they use with their islamophobic or racist posts....attempting to de-humanize the subject of their mockery and hate.

I am proud that today, the Canadian Trudeau government will be tabling a bill to protect transgendered people across the country.

About "trans children", it's perfectly fine for a boy to play with girl's toys, or a girl to play with boy's toys, and it should be encouraged rather than shamed... but it doesn't necessarily mean they're trans, it just means they show interest in something that is not traditionally for their gender. I mean, I show an interest in one or two things that are generally thought of as being for women, but that doesn't mean I am one; some people just have interests that are predominantly what the opposite gender is interested in.

I've also heard of so-called "progressive" parents trying to coerce their children into playing with opposite gender toys, or even being trans even if they don't show an interest in it, and that's just as bad as shaming a boy who likes girl's toys, or someone with body dysmorphia... it's pretty much the same thing.

If a boy likes girl's toys and has feminine tendencies, there's nothing wrong with that and they should be accepted... but that doesn't mean a boy who likes boy's toys and being masculine should be shamed.

Prejudicial opinions by this tiny organisation are not supported by the general medical community.

The American College of Pediatricians has a long standing reputation for offering opinions that are driven solely by Evangelical Protestant beliefs, having nothing to do with orthodox scientific research. I am certain that there are paediatricians who also subscribe to the views propagated by The American College of Pediatricians. The vast majority of paediatricians treat such opinions with contempt.
 
^I concur wholeheartedly. Could you imagine the outcry if the GMC, or one of the Royal Colleges were to sanction their "views"?

It is sad that an organisation such as The American College of Pediatricians that recomends "reparative therapy" for gays should receive support on this site.

For your information The American Psychiatric Association (APA) is the main professional organisation of psychiatrists in the United States, and the largest psychiatric organisation on this planet.
