It's different for everyone as to what they find offensive, no matter what size they are.

For example, I was taught that speaking that way to a stranger is rude. Now? people see fat people all the time I hear that its best to say nothing and text all your friends about it with a picture.

There is different situations. If we were talking about regular day to day things and it was a joke about weight it would be one thing.. It is another to make a joke while talking about a sexual situations. In the way that you can poke someone in the stomach and joke about their chunk while mowing on chips on the couch but cant in the middle of foreplay. It kills the mood and everyone likes to feel confident and sexy

I am a firm believer in that: "you can't make fun of anybody else until you can laugh at yourself." Reckon we all have those soft spots/red buttons but in general, It's a good defense mechanism. Of course, I wouldn't walk up to some random fat person and start belittling their weight.

As a random observation that happened last year. We were at a friend's 25th birthday party at a club and all the "cool kids" were at the bar and on the dance floor. The only people at the buffet and in the booths were the fat girls, isolated. Thus the term "fatty no friends" was born.

Without knowing the detail on how the two of you got to talking, if I were him I would have been a little bit embarrassed and upset. Was it really necessary to make that comment?
