It's sad he had to apologize for the comments he made. He has a right to believe what he wants, but I see people can't voice certain opinions without having to apologize. It's what this country has come to.

I Love Chris Hayes and I know he meant no harm....over the last few days I've listened to Soldiers & Vets on the radio agree with Chris's original comments and discuss the matter better than any right wing-attacker....

I can't watch Chris and Melisa Perry LIVE..I DVR both shows because I like to fast-fwd thru the boring segments....Some of their segments get HEATED quick....LOL...A couple of weeks ago i thought Chris might have to come between 2 of his male guests....Chris & Melisa are the Nicest Nerds you'll ever see on Cable News TV...

There are many types of "wrong things". He should have apologize, because that's what the knee-jerk audience needs. In an ideal world, he wouldn't have had to apologize, and in a slightly less ideal world he would have explained, like Kuli suggested. We live in the even less ideal world, sadly.

An apology for his bad timing in judgement on Memorial Day weekend would have been decent enough. I guess he thought that was the best opportunity to blend his views for the most effect.

Kuli you say the same of course but its a part of the plan of big defense and Republicans.
Sure I know a lot, many guys who went into the military because it beat the part time 15 -20 hr a wk benefit lacking local jobs left along the interstate like Motel 6, or Burger King. Its a way out for maybe better things. Take away the jobs that allow a chance of advancement with benefits and a working decent wage you have Wal-mart or the military for those lacking in money or high grades for a higher education or even trade school. The military is a very honorable way to achieve those goals you will not get ever at Target.
You can keep a volunteer military if that's the best game in town.
Its a good gig for many.
Try living in Wilmington Ohio you won't be flying for Airborne or even docking parcels for DHL it is destroyed. Don't get your hopes up on becoming a lineman or anyone giving a shit if you get toasted as many lineman do restoring the electric power in a freezing arctic storm in Jan. They ain't heros, and the same guy that was fried on the power line could sadly get fried on a IED but he took the job for the pay and benefits not the thought of being a hero.
You want to wash aircraft, fix a flat tire, or fly one you better look towards the military if you qualify. Only way out of Wilmington Ohio for many a young man in 2012........................

Just because someone enlists in the military doesn't make them a patriotic hero. The Bush Depression eliminated millions of jobs so a lot of young people had no choice but to enlist in the armed forces. For many they had few options but to enlist. That doesn't make them heroes.
