Christian Arsonist Destroys Gay Couples Home In North Carolina

give me Catholicism over Christianity,Mormons,baptists,pentecostals,... very creepy people indeed.Unfortunately this country is full of them, this is theirs epicenter.

Again, in no way have I ever accused all members of any particular group of any offense. I wouldn't even do this to the nazis.
You should. Who else let out contracts for the gas used in the ovens? Oh yeah. Christians.

QFT:

Not surprisingly, the use of the Bible by Christians to condemn homosexuals is just a convenience, an artifice to justify endemic homophobia.

If those quoting the texts were as diligent in quoting other old passages, they would also be condemning shrimp eaters, people wearing poly-wool blend suits, and children who talk back.

That is really why religion isn't the problem, it is segments of society that just plain don't get the civil rights of gays and others who are not mainstream. The scriptures are not the drivers, but the convenient club of those who hate us.

It is also worth noting that with every passing year, more of the society is dying that is hard-over about gays.

Fundamentalists are not as potent in the younger generations, despite the public statements by leaders. They know they are losing the younger people, hence the fierce attempts to counter gay rights.

If those quoting the texts would read the whole thing instead of being selective, they'd grasp that they're traitors to the Bible. They're engaging in the fallacy from Animal Farm, except in reverse: their claim is that all are made in the image of God, but that some are less so; that all are children of the Father, but some are less so; that all sins are the same in God's eyes -- but some are more so.
The driving principles of the Bible are that God is merciful, loving, kind; that all humans are made in His image. Those are the principles that drove Christians to end slavery, that sent them marching in the civil rights movement.

Yes, there are still haters. They claim the name of Christ, but have cast aside love and cast aside truth in order to indulge their selfish prejudices and self-righteousness. They ignore reality, indeed the ignore Christ, all the while claiming His name.

They are, in truth, antichrists, as John wrote of.

Funny how those supposed christian principles failed to end human slavery and other very blunt human rights violation in 2 thousand years. Also funny how coincidently for the first time in human history secularists stopped being arrested and executed did we start seeing people paying attention to human rights violations.

Stop lying right through your teeth and take credit for what secularists have done in counter to your christian persecution of others. Christians had 2 thousand years to prove the goodness of your principles. You guys failed. Stop trying to take credit for other people's work.

Study some history.

Christians began fighting to end slavery when still a minority in the Roman Empire.

Slavery was reintroduced to Christian society by Muslims.

Almost immediately, Christians began opposing slavery -- back before the time of Newton.

And then there's the REV. Dr. Martin Luther King, and the white Lutheran church that was his first ally in the civil rights movement.

Study some history.
Indeed.
Slavery was reintroduced to Christian society by Muslims.
And Christians embraced it with a god-given fever.

However, it was never reintroduced. It was always there. Shifting condemnation to another religion, whether by arguing fact or fiction, is meaningless. They are all the same — all of them — evil and moronic superstitious nonsense and growing in strength with each passing day.

All those slave-owning, sugar-plantation British Muslims and U.S. slave-owning, cotton-plantation-owning Muslims certainly knew how to fool the rest of the world into believing they were Christian.

Who knew the U.S. Civil War was fought by two opposing Muslim factions?

I think that if this thread has taught us anything, anything at all, it is that we as the gay community are just as quick to point the finger at people we don't like as anybody. The point of this thread was an article that accused somebody of doing something terrible, even though it had no hard evidence. You know, when you put it like that it sounds like all the articles condemning us with no solid base.

Yes. The Christian-bashers here care no more for reality than do the American Family Association or NOM -- they're just haters of a different stripe.

The big difference is, we are individuals.
No association with any group.

Love-your-enemy Christian platitudes lack credibility when under each one is a call for every gay to carry at least one loaded gun and to use it.

Such, though, are blind to the irony.

To cut the debate short.

The real Christians and Muslims really hate life.
That is why they are really looking forward to go to heaven.

But they shouldn't drag other people to go with them.

Let ask you again. If christians at large are as loving and want equal rights for all, how come they have consistently voted against our rights and the rights of other minority groups?
Worse, what does it say when human rights are subject to a vote in the first place?
