Christians vs business freedom to not discriminate

Which still has nothing whatsoever to do with people discriminating AGAINST other people.

It actually does if you think really carefully about it. Look at the two videos and it will become obvious.

Henry Cavil wears Dunhill, the Walmartians wear Walmart. Henry discriminates and the Walmartians don't.

not exactly fair, is it, Pat?

I don't believe that the people who shop at Wal-Mart can afford to buy Dunhill. If they could, maybe they would be as discriminating as Henry Cavil.

Oh, I've always been curious about those "people of Wal-Mart" sites; wondered if a lot of those shots are staged.

...never seen people like that in the Wal-Marts around my area

A government which tells you to whom you may not speak is a fascist government.

A government which tells you with whom you must spend your holidays is a fascist government.

A government which tells what to think or how to do business is a fascist government.

Governments like that exist in—

....1) Somalia
2) Saudi Arabia
3) Iran
4) Afghanistan
5) Nigeria
6) Uganda
7) Jamaica
8) Russia
9) Ukraine
10) Indonesia...

Iran
Saudi Arabia
Somalia
Uganda
Nigeria
Democratic Republic of Congo
Yemen
Libya
Sudan
South Sudan

They wouldn't have them from Wal-Mart advertising for Dunhill therefore its discrimination.

But Pat, doesn't the US government through requiring cities, municipalities and states to adopt the International Building Codes "telling" one how to build your building? Don't governments throughout the US mandate how far from the public right-of-way to locate a building, how high or the maximum number of stories one can build a structure, how many parking spaces one is required to provide, whether or not the building one plans to erect can be built in the lot that one has bought, etc. through varied and extensive zoning ordinances just another "infringement" on your rights? Isn't requiring businesses and building owners to adhere to the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act "telling" you how to provide for accessibility? Isn't requiring states to license automobile drivers and have them pass a driving test "telling" you how to drive?

Just because a "government" "tells" you how to do something does not necessarily make them "fascist". It simply means that "we the people" have decided that we want people to abide by certain rules and regulations that make up what we call society. Without these rules and regulations, we would have anarchy.

^

I agree with some of what you say but it's intrusive when it insists on telling us how to think.

.. It simply means that "we the people" have decided ..

We don't really make consensual decisions. We are a diverse society. Your governmental system is as silly and partisan and bitchy as ours; it is too heavy-handed to cope with the niceties of different peoples' thoughts and behaviour.

Again.

Grimshaw is just trying to whitewash and excuse his own racist, misogynist and islamaphobic discrimination.

Anyone who can write "it is too heavy-handed to cope with the niceties of different peoples' thoughts and behaviour." when talking about some homophobe discriminating against customers or to justify his own loathing on anyone who isn't a white anglo male is apparently incapable of self-awareness.

Of course we make consensual decisions to govern many behaviours in a civil society when some individuals are incapable of governing themselves. In fact, it is the basis of every society.

Perhaps you're going to the better class of Walmart?

I would guess that disgruntled staff (we have them here on JUB) use cell-phones to snap the juicy Walmartian shots.

Its discrimination against the overweight and ugly.

They look poor as well.

Gag.

Another thread where a certain someone strives to show he's more ignorant and bigoted than the thread's actual villains.

I'm not the one who makes the rules. But if you want the real truth that is it and that's why its called Discrimination for a reson.
Henry discriminates as does Dunhill.

Would these peope be the face of Dunhill fragrence? NO

Would Henry Cavill? YES.

Why do you think that is?

You can work it out.

OK, I'm going back to my perch. Let me know when we've figured out the difference between "discerning" and "discriminating", and when being made to open your business to everybody is no longer considered to be equivalent to being made to open your ass to everybody.

I always sort of wondered about that, civil rights question aside if you want the best for you wedding why would you go to someone you know has an incentive to NOT do the best for you?

The civil rights question can't be "set aside" when the issue is you've walked into a business and heard you will not be helped because the owners have an ideological problem with what kind of people you are.

You have reached the gargoyle. I'm afraid I'm up on my perch on the roof. Please leave a message, and I'll be sure to respond once I return amongst the land of the humans. Thank you.
