At least your "not so terrible" comment is implying that it was indeed "somewhat terrible". The notion that the media was somehow "waiting to pounce" on Eastwood is as nutso as talking to empty chairs- this man is SO respected that the media would not have gotten away with it
unless it were true- people left and right would have rushed to the defense of this "poor old man" and legendary actor/director.
And the "a lot of America" that this would have resonated with this ridiculousness are those already voting for Romney. No undecided voter was like, "Oh... senile old Clint Eastwood rambling to a chair... that makes my decision so much easier... ROMNEY 2012!"
But, more importantly,
you do know what they moved out of primetime coverage to make room for this, right? They moved the following Mitt Romney promo video:
Even I thought this video was an AMAZING political tool and did what no real-life moment could do: make Romney relatable and human. If you have not done so, watch this and then tell me with a straight gay face that replacing THIS with Eastwood was not a COLOSSAL mistake. Talk about something that might have actually changed minds...
