Meanwhile, back at the court... the attorneys for the defendant describe him as "non-binary" and his pronouns are "they/them". Turns out that his father abandoned him shortly after his birth and then the father embarks on a career as an MMA fighter/porn model/meth addict. The grandfather is a loony Trumpite who nearly was kicked out of the California legislature.

Right wing social media is all in a tizzy because their hero-shooter turns out to be one of the Satanic trans people. They're going to send Kyle Rittenhouse into isolation so that he doesn't begin to question his gender identity.

If someone were to pitch this story to Netflix, they would assign a ghost writer to make the story more plausible.

Has that been explained yet, how somebody who threatened his own mother with a bomb was able to get a gun? My natural assumption is he purchased it legally, since there's nothing really stopping loony tunes from buying firearms. Or was it maybe a Christmas gift from Grandpa? Sooner or later the NRA will release a statement about how this could've been avoided if everybody at the club had guns. :rolleyes:

As for gun control, we're just going to have to wait til one of these shooters hits somebody non-expendable. As long as it's the poors or gays or Mexican children there will be no change. I'll see if I can coax my people into open carrying at their next reparations rally, we'll have gun reform passed so fast it'll make The Flash jealous.

Ah, another mass shooting that was, by the very definition of the word, preventable. So, what's everybody having for Thanksgiving?
 
In fairness, the term "mass shooting" has evolved.

Whereas it is certainly true that the big killers have typically been white males, there were blacks here and there, particularly postal shootings and workplace killings.

But, it's a tiny fraction of people who do killings, even if you include gangbangers, so it's not really about race. It's about individuals who go ballistic.

The problem that presents is that it presupposes causation with correlation, a classic fallacy.

Whereas analysis might reveal that the worst mass shooters had 30 traits in common (age, race, education, income, car preference, furniture style, etc.), the relevance of those correlations isn't known until causation is determined. However, if analysis reveals that a subset of the total correlation set is a shared view of some abstraction, say "the American dream," denied, then the significant factor is not the race of the killer, but the expectation of entitlement (to happiness, prosperity, peace & quiet, etc.) that the subset shared.

If you flip the coin and analyze the gang murderers in Chicago, you'll find an overwhelming percentage of them are black, but it isn't the determining factor. Many times more blacks in Chicago never harm another citizen, much less murder one or multiple. Yet the correlation is there, for the lazy mind. It is the subset of the larger group that is the driver of the behavior, a view of the world that is violent, that sees law as an unfair barrier to a lifestyle they may believe unattainable without crime. Considering every black as a likely killer is an errant deduction.

You're a Brit. Brits have royalty. Royalty is inherently prejudiced, a caste system. Therefore, a Brit is inherently against equality. You're against equality. Faulty syllogisms.
