As far as I'm concerned, AshyPhoenix is nothing less than a role model. He faced his demon--which was one HELL of a demon--he faced that demon, and slayed it. He walks on water, if you ask me.

You can be a normal person living a normal life acting normal.

It's only a bunch of hogwash programming that tells you doing everything exactly as you would have otherwise except kissing a guy makes you not normal.

I don't watch Glee, I don't march in parades and I give more money to the Shark Conservation Network than to gay rights issues. I like extremely competitive sports and esports, I barely have any music by female artists and I don't own anything pink.

The idea that there's some monolithic imagery to being gay that you have to choose between that and being 'normal' is a false choice.

i feel as that people in general treat you differently if you don't move like how they do, think like they do, act like they do and etc, you're pretty much seen as different and the world has it's way of making people that aren't the norm feel that way. even in the gay community, let's say if you don't talk a certain way, carry yourself a certain way such as being masculine, i've found that many gay guys will view you as being closeted or ashamed of your sexuality or not being gay enough. top that if other things such as not being attractive or being from a different background or different town than they are or having no shared interests with them. then that just makes matters worse. then you go over to the straight people, they might think you're weird and all but they'll deal with you. the moment you say that you're gay, all of a sudden, you're nothing to them. it's feels like being rejected by the whole world. the straight world doesn't accept you. the gay world doesn't accept you. you as a person is seen as weird where people don't want to deal with you. after awhile, you start to believe that there's something wrong with you.

on top of that, if your thinking is messed up and your mind is not all there, it makes matters a lot worse. in my case, i feel that my thinking and my mind is working against me. like sometimes, i'll get paranoid where i think the worst out of someone or expect someone to turn on me since i've been in situations where i pretty much show somebody love, treat them as a friend and then they turn their backs on me without me even doing anything to them or they let me down in a major way. it's happened to me so many times that i don't even know who to trust and i expect the worst out of people. you know, it has made me paranoid where i feel like i can't trust anybody even when they show me love and mean me well. it's ridiculous.

Consider that you're further progressed than me on the dating front, in that you've been on dating websites, chatted with guys, and created profiles. I've done none of those things. So you've already had more confidence that I've had there.

And I'm sure you know deep down that trying again to pretend to be straight is a massively backward step.

It will all take time - but in say 2 years or 5 years you could look back and see how much you changed and grew as a person. I, and Lefty, and others, have already seen it, just in the time you've been on this forum.

And I only wish I could speak for others around here who treat you very poorly, but I think you're a genuine and honest guy with a lot on his plate who's making positive steps in his life. And I'd miss you greatly if you ever left.

the funny thing is that some members in here have said that i've changed for the better but i don't see it. then again, i have a tendency to put myself down a lot and look at the worst of myself. i think i should be held in a mental institution until my brain is sorted out right. things are not right right now.

What gets me is what they call a ban here would be called a suspension almost anywhere else. When people say x got banned to me that means they're gone forever unless they spoof an IP lol.

We have two 'bans'. One is a 7 day 'Cooling Off' period because we believe most people deserve a second chance, and then there is the permanent ban. These can also be applied to individual forums not just the whole board. Oh, and 'spoof' IPs are no guarantee that we won't know you've returned...

i agree. i hate whenever posters bring up ashyphoenix's problem and use it against him when dude basically is a survivor that basically is king konging his issues out.

and ashy hit the knuckle on the head about sexkitten too. i think dude has some issues going on where he might need to talk to somebody.

Refuji, this can and will happen whether you're straight, gay, bisexual, transgender or alien. People can always find something to judge or make fun of. If you let that be the dictation of what you do with your life you're going to be 65 years old, still sitting in the house afraid to go out, thinking "MAYBE I can soon decide who I'm going to be. I think I've almost got the perfect plan."

Don't bother. Do what's natural now and if people judge it so what? If you were a heterosexual hypermasculine supermodel people would find fault in that too.

I do think of him as one of those cute puppies who tears up the couch and poos in the hall. Perhaps I was overly indulgent with him, and if that encouraged him, I'm sorry.
