Medicare D was a huge giveaway of government money to the Pharmaceutical industry. It prohibited the federal government from negotiating drug prices with Big Pharma, as the Veterans' Administration does, which results in significantly higher costs for the taxpayer. http://azstarnet.com/news/science/health-med-fit/article_57d74170-fb53-51c8-ab7b-88eca3b22ebf.html So, since this is a program where taxpayers money is enriching corporations, not senior citizens, naturally Fox News didn't oppose it.

Unfunded wars under Bush bankrupted this nation.

Lack of infrastructure spending resulted in Katrina and the I-35 collapse under Bush.

The Democrats are now suggesting we be big grownups and pay for our bills by resorting to the obscene liberal 'tax and spend' level of tax policy that was last used by the liberal whacko Ronald Reagan.

Can you believe that? The Dems want to return to what the GOD of all conservative thought put into place. NOW it is a liberal scheme.

The sad thing is the only thing the republicans don't want is a successful America under a Democratic President. What they are against is American success.

That is a response to the just a single point of raster image that posted about medicare above me... purely responsive.

I could give a shit what the article say or doesn't say about Fox news. I rarely bother listening to anything mainstream since it is all crap...

Fox News demonstrated its true colors on quite a few occasions since I first started watching. SO I cannot honestly sit and watch and hope that I have the time afterward to validate the crap just fed to me.

SO I choose not to watch or listen.

Although if a breaking story is everywhere and on in the afternoon i will jump over just to hear shep tell me about it.... he used to be hot as hell back in his reporter days...

For that matter is a breaking story is on everywhere I will listen to MSNBC, CNN and then FOX to see how they are all putting their political spin on the true story.

Anyways I digress....

I suppose watching FOX could help people learn more.

After all, Fox went to court to defend its right to lie. It won. So if you watch Fox, the first thing you have to do is watch at least two other networks just to try to find out what is true and what is false in the Fox broadcast. Watching a network that we know lies would drive an honest person to check everything against other sources.

But wait -- most of the people who watch Fox don't watch anything else. That means they're soaking up lies and not trying to find the truth. So people who watch only Fox are becoming more ignorant with each broadcast.


And this benefits America how?

That's one way to look at it. It's just too bad that Fox News doesn't also present more balanced news. Especially since a large number of their viewers (based on polls) only watch FNC.

Palemale, my point is that there was not a news organization to point out the pros and cons of the Great Society. Most people at the time got their news from their local newspaper, ABC News, CBS News, NBC News - if they had a TV. Plain and simple point -- people were not informed, if they had been informed the Great Society would likely not have been implemented and many people's lives would have been much better.
