A beautiful chapter, and tearful. The Ruru and the Tiki are helping Dave, and Ra has so many new things to absorb.
They both seem to have good people close to them to give support.
I wonder how long letters will be enough to help cope with the separation ?

Oh my! Dave has nothing to worry about. He has the tiki and the ruru and with those two things plus his love, that's what will protect Ra from harm. I just want to be that added protection..... you know, make sure he does his studying and all that good stuff...... I promise... :( You know you can trust me............:-)

Now Matt shows up after Steve and Sophie head off to Waitohie for the weekend, offering to take Dave, mate, out for a night of getting pissed/shloshed/falling down drunk.

Yep, I have a feeling Dave's ass is about to have some serious Matt sausage in it.
 
Oh, oh! I don't know what what to think about the ruru. Only that I am fearful that it's death may mean some tragic thing may happen. How sad for Dave. However, it may also be a sign that Dave was obsessing too much and being alone all the time. That is not good for anyone.
Now, if we can only keep Matt from getting too pissed and trying something he may be sorry for....well.
That was a sad little chapter, JAG. But I will brace myself for anything that is about to happen.
