Desperate Housewives - Season Five

Oh please. What world are you living in? Gay couples with kids are NOT an ordinary sight like a straight couple with kids, whether you like it or not. Are you seriously going to deny that? I never said it was impossible to "have kids", I said it's unusual/surprising at best. If you saw a couple with kids, even you wouldn't be indifferent to it. My point still stands. You're so defensive, like you're under the impression I'm tying to shatter your fantasy world or something. You don't see TalkinTotheRain getting all pissy over this...it's called a discussion.

I don't know where you live, but if I saw a gay couple, NO, I would not have an issue with it. I would be indifferent. And what fantasy world are you shattering? I know everything isn't perfect, but I'm not gonna fight progress like you seem to want to. It sounds like you think every gay man should be miserable. Maybe thats a generational thing?

But enough of this stupid conversation. I can't wait until Sunday night. I hope Andrew and his fiance get married!

Nice twist, but no. I was obviously not talking about gay couples in general. I was talking about gay marriage and adoption (mostly adoption) and how DH is making it seem like it's a totally accepted thing. No idea how you got to the stupid conclusion that I want all gays to be miserable. WTF? And no, I don't think you'd have an issue seeing a gay couple raising kids, you just simply wouldn't be indifferent to it - that was my point.

I'm done.

I'm glad to see Andrew and his fiance getting married. For far too long Andrew was not being utilized on the show.

I guess Gale Harold won't be coming back to the show. That's why Susan is breaking up with him.

I think the Scavo's are utilized the most on the show. Lynette has the best storylines on the show.

I don't like Edie's character on the show anymore. She was better when she was a bitch. I think her husband is going to try to kill her.

Killing Edie isn't the revenge that he's after. If he wants revenge he will kill either Kathryn or Susan and with Mike saying the L word to Dave in conversation, that would bump Kathryn to the top of the hit list.

I love Edie. I think her character has become so much better. She adds a unique flavour to the cast. I am loving these latest episodes.

Ugh! I'm missing so much. Damned local abc station wouldn't renew their contract with my dish provider :(.
I'm sick of waiting for them to come back, I think I'll go get the show off the net.

Thank god the porter storyline is over with. Starting getting old and boring. Hopefully that is the last of it.

Gaby's kids were annoying to watch as usual.

I agree! Porter's story line was just a fill in for me to kill time.

As for Gaby's kids, they need their ass busted! :spank:

I hope that Dave kills off Katherine. That would be fun. Bree coming together with the "son-in-law" is cool. Come on, Gabby, beat those monsters already. Too bad the grandmother is not alive or she could ship them off to that bitch. LOL The Porter story might not be over, though it looks like it might be.

Because whether it's right or not, what they're portraying is not all that believeable. It's not like gay people can't get married and "have children" but DH is following so many straight world cliches, and try to spin them as something ordinary in the gay world. You'd think mentioning children would get more attention. Besides, you can tell DH is really trying to shove this *normal* relationship down our throat. I don't recall Andrew getting that much screen time back when his character kicked ass.

Also, are we forgetting that Bree is Christian? This has nothing to do with the 5 year jump, I never liked how one day she suddenly accepted him. All that because Justin said "I love him", right? I don't really remember. I just remember that somehow she told him it would be fine to invite Justin over and it was very anti-climatic.

And I think we both know very well that 5 years from now, many eyebrows will still be raised when a gay couple gets married and have kids.

Since it was only Bree and Andrew's mother-in-law that were around when they mentioned children I don't think much attention was warranted - especially considering both mothers were distracted by fighting over christmas etc.
Nobody else knows that they were planning on having kids, so maybe, in the future of the show, eyebrows will be raised when they start running around with children in tow.
Glad Bree bought them a house so that they would be staying on Wisteria Lane.

I find the Solis children really annoying to watch.

And the writing or the acting is quite terrible these days, I just watched the latest episode and I think at the beginning where Edie called the other housewives over to cry about her husband - whoever he is - either the writing was so bad that they would have to be exceptional actresses to pull anything off or their acting was just not at a level it should be after so many years on the show.

The latest episode was one of my favourites, I love the touching episodes like that. I also liked the fact that we got to see Mary Alice for a full episode. :)

I liked last night's episode as well. I thought it was very smart of the writers to do a "looking back" episode to provide some history behind the characters. It makes them more human. I also like that Mary Alice was in this episode.

That was one of the two or three best episodes since the show began.

Loved Gaby's line to Mary Alice: "Doesn't it make you want to put a gun to your head?"

omg are you guys serious? This 100th episode was horrible! It didn't advance the story at all...it was like alright let's introduce a character...kill him off before the title credits and then devote a whole episode to him and do flashbacks that don't give us any new information. It was lame.

It wasn't about advancing the story.

It was look-back at how far the girls have come.

And how one person can have a major impact on your life whether you know it or not.

Way better than your typical celebratory clip show, seeing the housewives through Eli's eyes gave us another perspective of them, and seeing more Mary Alice is always good.

alright....well I thought it was a waste of an episode...but to each their own I guess

Damnit, what's with all the sad shows this week? The episode this week was good and I just finished watching Grey's Anatomy and I teared up.
