If the husband weren't Victor I'd say the "husband" and the "friend" could be the same person. Like if it was Tom who died Lynetter would loose a husband and everyone would loose a friend but I don't think Victor can really be considered a friend to all. And I think the Scavo's will be fine. They might have killed off Tom but they're not killing all her kids and since they're all together I'm going with they're all fine.

Victor is definitely the husband who was lost since he and Gaby were still legally married. As for the friend, we're gonna find out something in the next epi that would considered a spoiler if I said anymore. But don't worry; hunky, asthmatic, whiny Tom is fine.

The entire episode was stupid. Sometimes you can tolerate people doing stupid things in a show or movie, but sometimes you can't. This is one instance where you can't. Bree feeling the need to talk to that stalker and invite her in was one of those stupid moments. If anyone is tempted to say, "Oh, she wanted dirt on Katherine", just shut up. She should have known better. This episode is barely a one out of 10 for me for reasons like that.

Also, I know it's a stretch at this point, but did anyone consider that the "husband" and the "friend" were the same person?

There's supposedly a story-line coming up where Bree tries to fix Andrew up with a gay contractor so she can get some repairs done to her house. But conflict between Bree and Susan arises when Susan already has someone who she thinks would be perfect for Andrew.

For two women that were decidedly ignorant about gay issues, they both seem to be tripping over themselves trying to fix Andrew up. Guess they've really come around, in spades. So much so that they're actually fighting over it? WTF?????? I hate to say it, but the amount of gay content aside, I don't think I would recommend Desperate Housewives to my gay friends who don't already watch it, because the show makes so little sense these days... the inconsistency and bad plotting just makes it unwatchable. Let's hope it improves some after the idiot producers start paying the writers more so that they can actually come up with some good, consistent plotting.

I'd say that about Season 2.

This season however has been excellent and renewed my love for this show. Whats so inconsistent about it though?

actually her inviting the woman in wasn't THAT outta left field. she obviously didn't KNOW just how unhinged the woman was, i'm thinking she probably figured she was just one of the many people Katherine has rubbed the wrong way.

Uh, right... she may not have known enough about the woman, but she did know that a tornado was on the way, and this wasn't the best time to be digging for dirt. Frankly, I have a horror movie mentality to this... you want to be stupid and make a really wrong move? Well, then you deserve what you get, even if that means being stabbed by a psycho (although in this case, it was Victor that got 'stabbed')... but Bree deserved to have the woman lock herself in her bathroom for what she was doing, frankly. She's lucky everyone in her house survived, except for the psycho woman (who also deserved what she got for being stupid enough to walk out there in the middle of the tornado, which if she didn't know about before, she would have had she listened to the people trying to get through to her from the other side of the locked door).

Anyway, this isn't up for debate as far as I'm concerned. The episode is a stupid ass overhyped piece of shit, just about every bit of it, except for the cathartic moments when Victor and the psycho woman finally get their just deserts. Like I said, the episode gets a 1 out of 10 (I would make it lower if I could, but it feels weird to give something 0 out of 10 and they did have the redeeming moments when both the thorns in the side are rid from Wisteria Lane).

Yep, total agreement and honestly, for someone who has barely said two words to Andrew for the whole duration of the show, and ran screaming from him when he discovered him and Justin (I think it was, anyway) in the pool, didn't even mention to Bree that she saw him kissing another guy (after Bree found out herself, which would have been appropriate, not before), I would figure she would just back the hell off and leave the matchmaking to Bree, who is his mom... besides, I would think she has enough on her plate with Mike's drug addiction... and what with the good advice Bree gave Susan about Mike's addiction, which she could probably use more of, now that Mike is going through a process Bree has successfully come out of, the last thing she'd want to do is piss Bree off.

I'm wondering if the writers were protesting the show by saying they would do really bad storylines before going on strike just to make their point that they don't work well for a teeny tiny salary, or perhaps Desperate Housewives decided to hire a bunch of scab writers to float a trial balloon to see if the audience wouldn't care in case of the strike so that they could retain them for later storylines and ditch their regular writers. Overall, the writing this season has been mostly horrible!!!

But where the hell are all these gay contractors coming from?!?

I don't know, but if you ever find out, please let me know... I've always had a fantasy about seducing one, or a cable guy or pizza delivery guy or UPS dude, for that matter.

Nah, doesn't ring a bell to me. This is without a doubt the worst of the batch, as far as I'm concerned.

Well, your opinion isn't going to change mine, so the only thing I can see is that my opinion would change yours... if you're enjoying the show, do you really want to know why I'm not? If anything, it will only hurt your ability to enjoy it. Don't get me wrong, there's a good scene here and there, but they aren't connected by the quality of an overall plotline and the quality of individual episodes vary from one to the next. If you really want to know, just let me know in a comment or in a reply, and I'll send you a PM with the detailed number or complaints I have. I'm also not as easily impressed as I once was, so I don't necessarily want to diminish the enjoyment that the teenagers that watch this show still get out of it. Plus, I'm not really interested in other people's feedback on my opinion. I don't like this season, and people debating point by point isn't going to help me enjoy it, it's just going to annoy me. As far as I'm concerned, the strike couldn't have come at a better time. It'll give the writers time to take a break and recharge their gears, and help them start fresh with more perspective so that Season 4 or 5 or whatever it is will be great.

Why does Mrs Mclusky have the only basement? I thought basements were pretty much standard on most houses, not to mention Wisteria-esqe McMansions. It took me a while to figure out why Lynette wanted to stay at Mcluskey's in the first place.

I could see the dead friend being the cat. They really made a big deal about it being family to Ida. The only thing is that Mary Alice said "they would all lose a friend" and it was really only Ida's friend.

Carlos could also be the dead friend. He wasn't anyone's husband and got along pretty well with the residents of Wisteria Lane. Sucks for Gabby to lose her husband and boyfriend in the same day (granted Victor intended to kill her anyway so she dodged a bullet there...literally.)

Was it ever figured out why Orson ran over Mike? I missed season 2 and only saw a couple episodes from season 3 so I didn't see how they resolved that.

Yes, it was explained at the end of season three. Long story short--Mike saw Orson cleaning up Monique's dead body, so Orson tried to kill him. Instead he only made him lose his memory--but it still did the trick.

Mike however, doesn't know it was Orson that ran him over.

Just throwing out suggestions... Those were either-or situations.

Obviously if Carlos was dead, nobody would notice the cat, but if none of the characters died, I could see maybe the cat being an easy way out, since technically it was a friend. And like I said, if Mary Alice said "they all lose a friend," the cat probably isn't it.

And just because nobody has mentioned it yet doesn't mean Carlos couldn't be dead. He got bludgeoned in the head with some sort of pipe and was lying outside in a massive tornado..it's not exactly a situation that promotes wellbeing.

Anyway, I really hope it isn't the cat.

Ah thanks. I thought I heard somewhere that the Orson-as-the-murderer scenerio had turned out to be a misunderstanding and he was really a good guy. I'm going to have to go back and watch seasons 2 and 3 one of these days to catch up on things.
