I sometimes pick up from some posts that a few JUBbers on here are parents, so I was wondering....

....how many of you are dads, and how many of you want to be dads?

i'd love to have a child! i am too young now but i definitely want to have one when i'm about 30, i think it's very difficult being a parent and being responsible for a child, needs your whole dedication and one has to think it very well before becomes a parent.

i don't even know if i will be with a woman when i'm 30 or with a man where i'll have to adopt, i don't know how my life is gonna be in 10 years but i love children and i want to become a parent one day!

You basically took the words out of my mouth.

I can't wait to have kids, it's one of my biggest aspirations. But it wont be till later on in life.

Yes, i have 4 young children. I had always known that i wanted children. For a long time, it didn't look like it was going to happen.

When you have children, your life is all about them. . .100%. Aside from being financially stable, you really need to be mature and ready enough to raise them.

I'll consider it when i'm about in my mid 30s, but definitely not now.

I think I would rather die than have a kid.
Just the thought of having one makes me shudder.

I don't have kids myself, but my boyfriend has a two year old son that I'm growing quite attached to.

I have three, and it's amazing. Not easy, but worth the effort. And yes, you do have to put darn near everything you're doing for yourself aside and realize the kids come first.....

No and no. Well at least I think I don't. I like the idea of kids, like when I visit my baby cousins, but not to permanently take care of.

Which is why I hate that so many people i've known had kids when they were in their early 20s; that sounds like a perfect recipe for a Mid-Life Crisis.

The good thing about gay adoption, surrogacy, artificial insemination etc etc is that ONLY the mature, responsible and financially secure can afford to go through that entire process. I'm all in favor of people starting a family this way,

we just got back from a few days in Provincetown Ma. and were surprised at the number of gay parents there were in town. I was proud to see doting dads and dads and moms and moms taking of care of their children. It's good that there is the ability to be a family.

As for me, I wanted children when I was younger, but didn't want to have an adoption agency poking around in my life, so I never did anything about it. In a way I am glad, if you have good kids it's great, but one troubled youngster can make a persons life miserable.

I'm GAY, so by definition, no. It's great really, because there is no pressure or expectation that I breed; that's what my brother is for...|

Very true.

I'm in my twenties so not right now but in the future yes. You have to save up money if you want children as can be expensive. Then as they get older there's food, healthcare, housing (living in the "right" school district) But that's life and life costs money.

If it's scientifically possible ideally I would want my kids to have me and my husband genes... just makes the development phase more predictable with personality traits you possess (ie having quiet, well behaved children)

But right now I want to enjoy my twenties first though. Wedding bells and babies can wait. For now at least.

Hell to the fuck no. I love my nieces and nephews, but no.

I don't have the time, interest, money, resources, or patience for children. I'm not adjusting or putting my life on hold for a child. My dreams will not be halted because I gotta take Ricky to soccer practice.

Besides, the world's overpopulated anyway. The children we have now are plenty. No need for me to contribute to it.

I told my parents when I was 12 that I never wanted to have children. "Oh, when you meet a cute girl, you'll change your mind." Little did they know... I never changed. And I have seen what happened to my friends after the wife and kids. The HORROR!!! LOL!

And it's true, the world is over populated, jobs are nil, why in the world would I want to throw a poor kid into THIS F/U mess?

No thanks.
