Do you remember when you could go to the cinema (double feature), and buy a bag of chips on the way home and still get change out of a penny.

Do you remember when Turkana Boy worked as a Saturday Matinee usher to pay for his flint knapping lessons?

I remember when Coke and Pepsi came in 2 sizes. A small bottle cost 5 cents including 2 cents deposit. A larger bottle cost 10 cents with 5 cents deposit. There were 2 sized of potato chips, too, for 5 and 10 cents.

what about an ad for what i think was chase manhattan bank car loans that featured a "forchevamchryslerwagen" they had a car that was an amalgamation of all those car manufacturers on one car. I've checked the inter web for it and never found it. Anyone remember that?

I remember these:

You could separate the ring part, and use the triangular part as a ' spring launcher' to make the ring fly quite a distance.

^ I remember people used to pull them off and slip them into the can through the hole... and then choke on them when they swallowed them.

Oh, and apparently thousands of people tried to get free phone calls with them in phone booths after watching War Games.

5¢ Baby Ruth and Butterfinger candy bars and 10¢ Cracker Jacks......... (!)

I assume that was their way of saying that "We offer loans for any new car that you want to buy" (and targeted to "we the people" as note the absence of Rolls-Royce, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, etc.)

We have several in the kitchen.
Non-screw-top caps and even stubborn screw-top caps on bottles.

We much more needed back in the day of reusable bottles, as opposed to today's single use/recycle bottles.

Do you remember when car companies advertised things about their cars like anti-lock brakes, air bags, mileage, and other important features instead of being able to talk to it, being able to let it park itself for you, and being able to open the back hatch with your foot?

Do you remember knowing what make a car was at first glance? Today you have to look for the insignia.

Those were the days when the different lines within a manufacturer still made unique bodies for their cars - not just a little fancier trim.
