^ and how old is that car

Some old farts around here will know.

It's a '61 Lark.

With an 8 track player (aftermarket).

Cars with 'just tape players' (I'm assuming they also have AM/FM radio) aren't that old. Mid 2000's they were still available without CD players.

wow thats pretyy old

They are actually pretty cool looking.

I've got a DVD player but don't own any digital recording equipment as yet, so the old VCR still gets plenty of use.

You can have any vhs tape etc transferred to discs. No reason to hold on to something that only has a life of maybe ten years.

After i purchased a DVD/VCR compo player/recorder I transferred everything I had on VHS to DVD, and since I no longer had much use or it, the VCR is now happy and living out it's years in a retirement home with the vinal record players. I still have and cassette recorder and tapes but I don't use them much. I have replaced a lot of the music and mostly just listen to MP3 and CDs.

i do. i still watch movies using vcr and listen to music using cassette tape/walkman.

Yes, I own both and a record player, and I won't get rid of them. ever.

There are times when I crave (yes, the same way one can crave a particular food) a certain television show and it's either not on or not broadcast anymore. My VCR solves that one! Besides, I have too many cassette tapes with too many shows that I taped in years past that can't be seen anymore. Maybe I'll just have them transferred one day.

As far as audio cassettes, I have so many classics (from the '80s and '90s) that I just can't bear to part with.

I have a box of VHS stuff, but I haven't had a vcr in about 2 years now.

My bff will not let go of his vcr and is so pissed off that he can't buy new movies on vhs anymore.

I have both VCR and Cassette, but never use either. I use my computer for music, and I have DVR with my cable service. I'll play a DVD movie on occasion, but use the cable TV much more. Having your music and entertainment on a hard drive is the best way to go.

Yes I do!

I do have a Blu Ray player to watch Blu Rays and DVDs on the HDTV. But, I also still have the VCR hooked up for my old VHS tapes that have never been released on DVD/Blu Ray.

I also still have an audio cassette player that I use from time to time. I also have a record player.

I still use my cassette deck on my hifi as Im always recording stuff to listen to in the car stereo, but the video recorder is long gone................

I have a turn table, does that count as old.

I got a turntable that you can connect to your pc and record your old 45s and LPs, converting them into mp3s. Then you can make cds or just keep it on your pc. It's great.

Yeah I still have one. I don't plan on destroying any of my video tapes soon. They're good backup when you're dvds all get messed up and you're shit out of luck.

Im curious how many of you still use a vcr and/or a tape player to listen to tapes?

I still have a vcr and still record stuff from the tv. And i still listen to cassette tapes

I purchased a High-Quality DVD/VCR/Burner/Ram piece of equipment off Ebay about 2yrs ago...The Remote never worked but the shit did play DVD's & VHS tapes and I could Dub VHS tapes to DVD's...I liked that...

Well let me tell you what I did...SMART Me decided to get out one of my OLD Ass VHS tapes from 1990...I put that Sucker in my So-Called High-Quality DVD/VCR Combo and the shit stopped working...It will no longer play DVD's or VHS tapes...Truth be told it probably had nothing to do with the DVD/VCR player maybe the old ass tape just packed a powerful Killer-punch...

So now I'll have to go to Wal-Mart or Best buy and buy a New DVD/VCR combo player..I ALWAYS Buy "Phillips" electronics but this time I went with Panasonic because of the features...I'm gonna stick with what works for me and buy a "Phillips" DVD/VCR combo player/recorder...

Now the GOOD part about having a Satellite-DVR is that when your DVD/VHS player breaks down you can still Digitally record your shows off the TV...So have a back-up plan Folks...
