what? What? *picks up life preserver and see it says Titanic* WHAT?!
lol
OK, well, you officially ruined any code for more racier flirting than the language for your exchange suggested with that last one... hehe
however, if the 10th doc knew how to fix the problem because he saw him do it as the 5th doctor, then why wouldn't he know the master was still alive earlier as the 10th doctor?
That's one of many things that you have to stretch to explain when they do these retroactive things. Keep in mind that, as far as we saw onscreen, the 10th Doctor didn't tell the 5th Doc exactly how far in the Doctor's own personal timeline he had traveled to meet himself, and the 5th Doc knew that the 10th Doc was apparently able to handle things himself, so there wasn't the need to ask him specific details as to exactly where, how and
when the Master turned up. It was probably an egotistical act by the 10th Doc (who seemed like he was suffering from it a bit at the beginning there) to want to handle everything himself. As it worked out, the only one who was hurt by what the Master did at the very end (besides the Master himself, although I doubt it's the last we've seen of him) was the president of the US (which I don't believe anyone here has brought up the obvious parallels of), so why mess with what, at the end, was ultimately a good thing?
Also, this is hardly the first time when the Doctor had the opportunity to warn his past selves. He met himself at least three times (if you only count the televised episodes) in
The Three Doctors,
The Five Doctors, and
The Two Doctors, and he didn't feel the need to change the timeline then, so it makes little sense for him to start doing so now. If anything, he would probably feel the need to warn the Fifth Doc that Gallifrey would be destroyed in his future, but he did state in
Father's Day that changes in the timeline should be done extremely sparingly (which apparently included going back in time to avert the destruction of Gallifrey, so warning himself that the Master survived Gallifrey's destruction pales by comparison).
no audio. i assumed it's an audio codec problem, but i updated to the latest k-lite mega codec pack and still no good. anyone get a version with nice video but no audio? i'm wondering if maybe it's not just me...
How familiar are you with codecs? You should double-check afterdawn.com (I learned everything I needed to know about codecs from that site), and also exactly what type of file you're dowloading to make sure there isn't an obsecure codec you'll need to listen to audio.
The version I downloaded was just fine. You should always look for [MM] when you download anything from the Whoniverse because you know you're getting MadMartha's uploads, which are always the highest possible quality you can hope for. I've never had a single problem, audio, codec, or otherwise, once I've made sure I have basic .AVI/XVid related codecs on my system.
