  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Does anyone on here love country music?

I am mostly definitely a country music fan !!!

I think I started a thread before about country music and it go zero responces lol. Is country music really unpopular with the gay community?

Absolutely.

And then there are some who love it.

I fall somewhere in between.

Believe it or not, and as far as the chasm between the bi and the gay might be, we do share some commonalities.

I think the only real difference is that we did it waay before you people ever even thought of it.

And if it's any consolation to you, I have found that the more conservative the gay guy happens to be, the more likely he is to listen to country & western music. In other words, it is a mostly hetero-like practice. So it is ok. You can rejoice now.

I'm not a Die-hard fan of Country Music but I LOVE many Country Stars and their songs...

Reba is the QUEEN..(I don't care that she's a Republican)

Martina McBride has one of the most POWERFUL voices in country history. Give her a Mic and watch her HANG with any of the "Power Divas" out there...

Travis Tritt is one of my all-time favorites...When he opens his mouth he gives you Country, Rock & Soul...Awesome singer...

Wynonna Judd makes you wanna get out of your seat when she takes the stage...She OWNS the stage..

Tim McGraw is also a Favorite...He's got Swagger and a sexy "walk" on him..

Carrie Underwood reigns as todays "Voice" of Country..She's just an awesomely polished Singer...The First time I saw Carrie belt out a tune on American Idol I knew she was destined for Super-Stardom.....She gives you everything she's got on the inside and she leaves you know choice but to Love her and that Voice..

OMG REBA is a Republican???? That freaking SUCKS! I loooove her & didn't know that! I guess with all that money she would want to be but she could definitely AFFORD to be a democrat!

Well I must say that I LOVE Country Music. I listen to it as much as i listen to Pop & light rock.

I am seeing REBA IN ATLANTA on Nov. 12!!!! Can't wait!!! Still have an extra ticket & my friend backed out so if any of you guys are from ATL & wanna go let me know, I may have a ticket for ya!

Still sorry to hear that she is a Republican :( BUT I love her anyway!

Yes, but only from the '30s - '60s. Maybe some stuff from the '70s & '80s, but not much. I hardly listen to any contemporary music at all - the vast majority of my favorite singers are all dead.

I love it as long as it's not the only thing being played. After half an hour of just country, I'm ready to kill things.

I was gonna say something like, "Ha ha ha! I know right?" Or, maybe, "Well, it all just blends into the background, anyway--you'd rather listen to gay-club techno? Hoofah!"

Something to that effect.

But I think you really do want to kill things...

Um.... I have to go now.

Actually there isn't really any kind of music I can listen to non-stop. I suppose classic rock comes the closest, but what I really like is a mix of the best from classical to Broadway to jazz to country to blues......

I love country music but not specifically to where I would follow a specific artist over time. However, I like; Conway Twitty, George Jones, Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, Dwight Yoakam, Patty Loveless, Tanya Tucker, Alan Jackson, Travis Tritt, Kathy Mattea, etc. I like some of the new crop of artists' songs, Johnny Reid, Brad Paisley. ..|

Very true...LOL....Reba is not an "Extreme Right-Wing Loon" like her fellow Entertainer Chuck Norris...Reba has "Class" while her Conservative-peers are just a bunch of Bat-Shit- Loud Mouths...

I wouldn't say I'm a follower of the genre but I am a huge fan of Dolly Parton. I'm also a fan of Olivia Newton-John, kd lang and Shania Twain who all started in country.

I also have a soft spot for Patsy Cline, Tammy Wynette and Slim Dusty because my parents were fans. I always heard their music while I was growing up, so I get a little nostalgic for my childhood whenever I hear them.

The lyrics - particularly the chorus - in this song make me cry:

My parents also listened to Dean Martin but I don't have a soft spot for him. There's just something about his crooning and his songs that sound so DEPRESSING! Every time I hear one of his songs I just get an urge to kill myself.

I can handle one Dean Martin song. But PLEASE, it had better be followed by "Friends in Low Places", "Hotel California", and that one about the rain down in Africa, then some serious Mozart and a little Van Halen plus at least one classic Simon and Garfunkel song before I hear another one.

Being a DJ, I get to listen to all styles of music (saying that... I'm retiring from it soon. 24 years is long enough! lolol)

But.. my heart belongs to Country music! Here's some of my fave artists:

Dolly Parton
John Denver
Alan Jackson
Steve Holy (I love "Good Morning, Beautiful". If only I had someone to dedicate that to :( )

Relaxing at nite, I play Country music.

The only country I like is Kings of Leon (I saw them WAY back in 2005 before they got big) and Zac Brown Band. Most of the genre I can't stand though.

Geez, I really fucked up there - I meant JIM REEVES! Deano ain't even country! That's what happens when I write posts half-asleep at 2 o'clock in the morning.

I'm not a big Deano listener, but I would like it known that I don't dislike him, I don't dislike his music and I don't find him depressing or suicide-inducing.

Everything else about that quoted post is correct, just replace Deano's name with Jim's.

I don't know if this has already been posted (it's a couple years old now) but I LOVE it! I always knew Beyonce was a cun.....try queen!
