A patient in a Dallas hospital has been confirmed to have the deadly Ebola virus, the Centers for Disease Control said Tuesday.
That person has been held in "strict isolation" at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas as he was evaluated for possible exposure to the virus. There are no plans to transfer the patient to a specialized hospital with a biocontainment unit at this time.
This is the first-ever case of this strain of Ebola confirmed in the United States. Officials would not confirm or deny if he was a U.S. citizen, only saying he was "visiting family in the U.S."
"I have no doubt that we will control this case of Ebola, so that it does not spread widely in this country," said Dr. Tom Frieden, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention at a Tuesday afternoon news conference in Atlanta. "It is certainly possible that someone who has had contact with this patient could develop Ebola. But there is no doubt in my mind that we will stop it here."
This person was actually sent home after first visiting the hospital because his condition was not recognized despite his travel history. Sounds like something out of a movie.
I hope it doesn't descend into an angry mob tearing the place apart....

I guess it would be interesting to know the last time Dallas had a riot of any sort versus other major US cities.
Oh, I am so sorry I looked. The first actual riot I found online was 1973. It was a case of a police officer murdering a 13-yr.-old in a squad car as he was handcuffed. The bastard got away with it, only serving less than a three year sentence for murder. That riot should have brought the house down. What an outrage.

I guess the good news is that is definitely not the Texas we have today, contrary to the rants of the Left in HT.
