The Madam President is urging Canada and other countries to do more as the Ebola outbreak continues to ravage her West African nation.

She says the patient her nation was unpardonable.

New Developments...

WFAA-TV in Dallas reports that both the city of Dallas, and Dallas County officials have moved Duncan's family out of their apartments and that County Judge Clay Jenkins personally drove the family to a new, temporary, undisclosed private residence that has been provided by an anon donor.

"The city and county has been working very hard to put this family in a safe location, and it has been tough, because no one wanted them," said city of Dallas spokeswoman Sana Sayed. "And so someone was kind enough to offer up a private residence, that is gated, that is separated from any neighborhood and apartment complex, so that they can have their privacy and be away from anyone who has concerns."

The thorough cleaning up of the old apartment was initially going to only take several hours. Now, some estimates put the cleanup process as needing to take days, if not a whole week or more. All of the old stuff being thrown away in the apartment will be incinerated.

I find this interesting, though >> The Dallas County DA's Office says that they want to press charges for willfully exposing a deadly virus upon other individuals (kinda the same charge that would be brought against someone who is HIV+, consciously knows it, and goes out and has unprotected sex, anyway). They say that due to the unprecedented nature of this whole incident, they must be careful. Also - what makes me scratch my head a bit - the DA's Office is also concerned about putting this guy carrying this deadly virus in with the general population of the county jail, if they were to arrest him.

BREAKING NEWS >> He's fucking quarantined! He's not going anywhere, anyways! Y'all already have this guy under armed guard protective custody, anyways! Just place him officially and for the record as being under arrest - for willfully exposing a deadly virus upon other individuals, and just keep his ass quarantined at the hospital! Until he is medically certified as virus-free, and no longer presents a clear and present contagious danger to other people, It's not like he's going to just willy-nilly leave the hospital under his own power, and go to the McDiggy's down the street and have a Big Mac.

These people handling this really make my head hurt.

Why does Texas want help from the CDC or other federal government agencies at all?
They always talk about hwo they can handle it themselves, let them prove it.

Perhaps this will help people realise that having a medical system which denies coverage to millions of your fellow citizens is not such a good idea. Viruses don't ask to see your insurance card before they infect you.

If the world spent as much money on making the world a safer, cleaner, more habitable place for all as it did on arming the world, blowing people up and keeping the third world poor, this wouldn't be an issue.

He has died:

DALLAS — The first person to be diagnosed with Ebola in the United States died early Wednesday, officials with Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital announced.

“It is with profound sadness and heartfelt disappointment that we must inform you of the death of Thomas Eric Duncan this morning at 7:51 a.m.,” the hospital said in a written statement. “Mr. Duncan succumbed to an insidious disease, Ebola.”

The Liberian citizen, who recently traveled from West Africa to Dallas to reunite with a long-lost son and the teen's mother, had been in isolation at Texas Health Presbyterian for 10 days.

“This hurts deeply,” said Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings during a city council meeting. “We were hoping this was not going to happen.”

Just to put all of this in perspective:

Mark my word, people. This is the beginning of the zombie apocalypse.

Ebola turns airborne. Ebola ravages millions around the world. World health organization comes up with a "cure". Cure causes Ebola to mutate to something that reanimates the dead. The dead attack the living. Zombie apocalypse.

I hear so much about Ebola but how do it spread ?
like flu spread or what ?

That's a great testimonial to the fact that not all humans are greedy, self-serving, egomaniacs.

Hopefully there are a lot more of us out there.

My mom is a vaccination expert that works out of a travel clinic, and she believes that soon, the level of hypochondria over Ebola is going to go through the absolute fucking ROOF. The initial symptoms of Ebola and your normal flu are pretty much identical, and with people convincing themselves that somehow, they caught Ebola the minute they get a cough or a sneeze or a sore throat, she expects MANY Ebola scares, but not a lot of actual cases.
