I like how in this thread, you argue almost the exact opposite of any other situation: that Ellen because she's a lesbian is not a proper one because she's not some kind of one-dimensional trope only ever talking about gay and lesbian people and sex as the sum of her entire identity and existence.

As opposed to anytime gay people are actually talking about gay issues or gay rights, you label them as loudmouthed, troublemaking people with attitude problems and self-absorbed worldviews and no sense of proportion.

I'm saying that at least in your instance, the frequent mention that people are incapable of perceiving sarcasm or irony is most often simply your veiled excuse for your indefensible viewpoints which you refuse to substantiate.

Perhaps if no one in the entire audience laughs it's not that they all lacked a sense of humor.
