Eurovision 2015

Oh my gosh so many great acts! I loved Serbia, Georgia and Belgium. I'm sad Moldova didn't get throug because he was pretty hot but I'm glad Finland didn't get through. I know they were a sentimental favourite but they were dreadful
 
So excited! I haven't seen the second semi final yet (I slept through it :())but I'm very keen to see what that hot guy that everyone is raving about is like

As if often say....

....it's the only day of the year when I am pro-European. :mrgreen:

Anyway, I always try to make a thread of it on the night.

As customary for me I never hear any of the songs before the final - not even my own country's entry.

Some highlights for me:

Israel - catchy and 'boy-bandy' and they had a bit of style and flair too
Estonia - that was a classy song and very good, it was my favourite actually
United Kingdom - very 1920's style and was the best U.K. entry in many a year in my opinion
Serbia - the 'big lady' diva did a Conchita-esque song, thought it might win
Sweden - very impressive stage projection and effects
Austria - an old retro-style guitar-drum-bass number that was OK (0 points!! undeserved!!)
Belgium - it was very unique in a techno-ballad style way and I liked it

Anyway it *looked* as late as half-way through the scoring that Russia (who are always receiving bloc votes these days) was going to edge away with it (with a silly 'optimistic' song about peace and love and friendship and understanding - tell THAT message to the people of Ukraine AND to the gays living in your own country) but Sweden turned it round at late stage.

Not a bad song, and best of the three in the top running.

A Serbian friend had told me excitedly that Australia got an honorary spot this year. I'm not surprised that they did terribly hahaha.

We don't get the show here---was in Spain last year in Stiges where all the queens were rooting for Conchita and yeah would like her to fuck off too lol---seems like there is a formula for winning this thing---and this dude sort of pegged it.
