Eurovision 2015

Re: Eurovision Song Contest 2015! Who watched??

He's crazy hot so I'm looking forward to seeing more of him now that he won. I immediately started following his Instagram of course. So glad Russia didn't win! I love her but if they won people like us could have been put in serious danger.

It was the first year my country got to compete and it was so exciting! I loved voting for the first time. The Europeans all seem so nice to us and never once mentioned that we kind of sent a bland act to them and even then they were hospitable enough to give us 5th place! Thanks so much!

I'm going to miss not being able to vote next year. My sister says maybe one day we could go to see Eurovision in person one day! Oh that would make me so happy!

Re: Eurovision Song Contest 2015! Who watched??

I never watch it. Would rather stick pins in my eyes etc etc.

A Serbian friend had told me excitedly that Australia got an honorary spot this year. I'm not surprised that they did terribly hahaha.

Apparently Guy Sebastian still hasn't OD'd on Jesus juice yet.

Re: Eurovision Song Contest 2015! Who watched??

I started watching 3 years ago when an russian friend of mine recommended it to me. I usually only watch some of the finals. A really talented artist friend who's from Belgium also recommended me this show and I loved it.

I like Italy's entry this year

Belgium's is great too.

Regardless I think Sweden's a hottie and his voice is great too so he deserve the win :)

Re: Eurovision Song Contest 2015! Who watched??

Guess i don't understand this contest---this is not an amateur contest as ll Volo has been all over TV and doing concerts here for years.

Utter shite.

Re: Eurovision Song Contest 2015! Who watched??

Austria - an old retro-style guitar-drum-bass number that was OK (0 points!! undeserved!!)

That was the best song of the whole lot and I thought it would go close to winning. Yet it got 0 points??? Most of the songs were complete crap, along the lines of bubblegum pop, especially the UK one.
Some of the voting also seems quite political. Former eastern block countries were voting for Russia and brought booing from the crowd.

Re: Eurovision Song Contest 2015! Who watched??

There are quite a few songs that i like in this years Eurovision.

Of course not.
They are all professionals but the successful ones like Ed Sheeran ... etc are not in it, don't know why.
Maybe the contest are for the not so successful or not so well known ones only.

Some of the comments are funny:

"ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME, EUROPE?
Spain 21? Germany 0 POINTS? REALLY? No more BIG 5 for """EURO"""vision"

As myself, JAG and Telstra are indicating, it is totally baffling what it is about this song that had it voted 0 points on the night. It is nowhere near the worst of the bunch I heard. It's just a mellow retro-classic 1970's soft rock type of song. What is so wrong with that?

I was trying to work out which singer or group it most reminded me of, but I can't quite figure it out. My knowledge of that era is sparse. Not John Lennon and not Queen but ....? I don't know.

Also baffling that as hosts, you'd have thought that Austria would pick up a few 'nods' in extra little points much the same as Australia did. But to be snubbed even worse than the U.K. gets snubbed is uncalled for.

Some of the voting also seems quite political. Former eastern block countries were voting for Russia and brought booing from the crowd.

They booed Russia last year too, as I recall. Wasn't it two 16-year-old girls (twins?) from them last year.

Russia always choosing singers and songs and lyrics to act all sweet and innocent and pure. Such hypocrisy.

I'm not surprised people in western Europe show such disdain for that country and its numerous sycophantic multi-point giving ex-Soviet influenced neighbours.
