I needed some mindless entertainment after the day I've had, and you don't get more mindless than the Eurovision Song Contest. I quite liked Slovenia and from the clip (but not from the YouTube videos) Ireland.

I do hope de Topper fail miserably. What a crap song that was.

I meant his physical gay type: I haven't actually seen any pic of him there (I hardly ever go outside BCN/Madrid)... but that wouldn't surprise me in the least, cf. beginning of this post :mrgreen:

I will go fucking mad if we dont get in the top ten tommorow, most of the acts that got through are shit! The only ones that I like are Norway, Estonia and Ukraine.

And how did Ireland not get through really, they where really good. And dont even get me started with Greece, that was a load of bolax cant beleive that got through! Its not looking good for the UK! Got a bad feeling about this!
 
I didn't see Ireland's act completely, but I loved it. However, the YouTube clips were baaaaaaaaaaad.

I quite liked Slovenia.
 
During the past years I would watch the show with the sound off only to see the cloths, the choreographies... this year not even so. Spain's performer is such a pathetic farthead.

The Eurovision Song Contest is up there with the Oscars and that ghastly Cilla Black Surprise Surprise show in terms of stomach-churning awfulness.

I've no idea who'll win, some obscure eastern country I've never heard of probably, and I really don't care.

I rather agree with this analysis (apart from the Cilla Black reference, as I've never seen that show - but given that she was a 60's UK pop icon, I can imagine...)

Mind you - the Eurovision borefest can occasionally surprise - like the time, fairly recently, that some Heavy Metal mob (from Finland?) won. Not that I like Heavy Metal - but at least it was a departure from the awful predictable chintzy 'formula' pop that usually wins.

Mind you - I don't think they'll ever surpass the time they (a few years ago now) voted an Israeli transexual as the winner. :=D:
