I've only seen them like 4 times live.... doesn't make me a fun.

I like them. Seen them twice. Was a little dissapointed by the Open Door but its grown on me a bit, but I think Fallen was better for thematic contenet.

I would say that Evanescence are my favourite band. I have all their albums that I can have, including Origins and their live album (as well as the DVD) Anywhere But Home. Also downloaded a large selection of alternative versions and songs not on their albums.

My favourite song is definatly My Immortal. I have 8 different versions of it listening to them a combined 1132 times since July 2005.

I cant really think of a fave song by them, they're all good.

Oh yeah, I love Evanescence... I've always liked them. An ex of mine was really into them, and by association, I got into them more.

Currently, my favorite song is "Imaginary".

Imaginary is such a peaceful song... I love it

I love them and was kinda obsessed with them for like 3 years, lol. I'm over that but they're still on my top 3 list

I remember having heard BMTL on TV and asked my friend about them. She told me to download Taking Over Me and then I immediately fell in love. I started downloading everything I could find by them and managed to acquire all of their old stuff, EPs demos and Bsides. I eventually got 'Fallen' as an Xmas present from that same friend. I've got ABH and TOD as well. I'm even a moderator at a small ev-forum ^^

I hope this break they're on now won't be a permanent one, but I expect at least 3 years until another album.

I'm bored so I'm gonna list my fave song from each "group" ^^ - list is subject to rapid change, lol

Anyway, I like they're stuff. They're far from my favorite band, but they're about high-center on the list. My fave song from them would be either Bring me to Life, or My Immortal.

It's odd: just as the title for this thread caught my eye I was half-way through listening to this song.

Gotta love Evanescence. I think my favourite song of theirs is Good Enough, for its sheer simmering sense of emotive power. I've rarely felt a singer communicate the meaning of a lyric as much as I do when I hear Amy intone the line, "it's been such a long time coming, but I feel gooooood..."

And yay! A fellow 'Lose Control' lover, it's such an underrated song. It's a truly sexy song, I mean that as in extremely sensual and beautiful as opposed to "look at me, I am half-nekkid!" You can really hear the Björk influences in that one.

And why wait for Sunshine? I am clearly the biggest Evfan around!

Was anyone else utterly flabbergasted and made a high-pitched squeaking noise when they heard that they finally performed this one live?

Understanding is one of the first Evanescence song but I think that Solitude is officially considered "the first Ev song"

Solitude was the first song in a sort of a writing competition that Amy and Ben had going on.

Amy wrote Solitude and Give Unto Me while Ben wrote Understanding and My Immortal (the original demo version, it's pretty different from the one released on Fallen)

In the end they decided that Amy won with Give Unto Me.

Huge Evanescence fan but that song really lacks the Uhmpf I love from Amy Lee

Bring me to life and Call me when your sober were melodic, hard, edgy, and just felt like they were all in. Then songs like Lithium, Going Under, Tourniquet, My Immortal and Lacrymosa (Not a lot probably know or remember the last one) all had that element.

This sounds reserved and definitely sounds like a bonus track.

Really sad but I am holding out for leaks/Full album

I know there is some fire.


P.S. It kills me they made a fantastic single cover for a song I probably won't buy. Totally blown

The song's alright. Amy's a lot more interesting than that so I can understand the so-so reception I've seen on music sites. Too bad about Ben's band breaking up this year because they had some cool rockin' tunes.

I quite like it, it's a lot more straight forward rock than they've done before but it has those Ev elements. It took a few listens but now I'm hooked.

I love the dramatic shift in tone in the pre-chorus that still manages to sound so seamless.

And they way she sings the first line of the chorus after the bridge, almost mockingly, brings a big smile to my face

It's also nice to see how the musical themes have evolved from despair (Fallen) to hope (TOD) and now empowerment.

My favorite Rock Band! Well them and Linkin Park are my favs. Amy has a great voice.

The new song is awesome, imo! I like it.

I can't worship Amy Lee enough, she's so fucking talented .



I mean yeah her pitch kinda suffers during high-energy songs sometimes because she's focussing on 'rocking out' as much as singing, but put her behind the piano and she sounds (to my ears) even better than the studio much of the time. Not a lot of singers can say that.

Actually think their last, self-titled album was their best yet in consistency terms - Fallen has more classics but also more dull spots IMO.

The history of the band is really interesting to me too. Dramaaaaaa.
