Re: What should Evanescence's 3rd single be?

I think Sweet Sacrifice was a good choice...because it was originally going to be All That I'm Living For (per the labels request) and after they announced it, the official forums went nuts and fans were pissed and said they wanted Sweet Sacrifice or Weight Of The World....and they ultimately got their way...i think its a good choice...would love to see a video for every song on the album....i mean Beyonce did it lol

my best friend who is a lesbian wants amy lee badly!

I went to their latest concer in feb! it was awsome! and i met my ex-boyfriend at the concert LOL

Re: What should Evanescence's 3rd single be?

I would have loved it if they'd have gone with a more "different" song like Lose Control or Snow White Queen, but SS is a good choice for a single, it's catchy and pretty radio friendly. I hope they include b-sides with this single, I was disappointed with the fact that the Lithium single had nothing new on it.

Pics from the video can be seen in the official site's gallery. It looks like it's going to be kickass :D. Love the one of Amy in that red dress!

Ooh, I love them, my favourite band ever :D. I've got everything they've ever recorded from the EPs to The Open Door (except for that one notorious song ;)).
I'd love to see them live, but I doubt they'll come to Iceland anytime soon...

I liked about half the first album.. the second one is kinda meh.... that first single was whiney.. I listened to the record a couple of times and got bored both of them.

but yeah.. few good songs on the first record.

I prefer TOD to Fallen, but it took me a longer time to get into it. I think albums like that are usually better, because the songs stay with you for a longer time. TODs songs aren't as catchy, but they are, in my opinion, a lot more mature and diverse than the ones on Fallen. But it's all good :P

i love evanescence they are the best band ever john is my fave he's so hot amy has the best voice i,ve ever heard i saw her and korn on mtv unpluged and i like the way they changed the song

Re: What should Evanescence's 3rd single be?

I think Sweet Sacrifice was a bit predictable as the 3rd single.
They should have gone for something more interesting like Lacrymosa

I now agree with this too. I just recently found out how good this song is. Lacrymosa, that is.

Love them, much prefer Fallen to Open Door though - Going under is by far my favourite track. Would love to see them live, damn you lucky people who have! #-o

I like their old stuff from the 'origin' album the best. Back when she was with Ben Moody. They voices were nice together and her voice was less scatchy sounding (don't get me wrong amy lee still sounds awesome but before she was amazing) I would love to get ahold of the cd (only found it on ebay and i don't have an accont)

I loved them. I definitely like "Fallen" better, but "Lithium" on the new CD is simply breathtaking.. especially when she hits that high note at the end..

And the video is awesome, looks like the exact opposite of Lithium, I'm sure that was on purpose.

Hmmm... Cristina Scabbia or Amy Lee... who is the better vocalist?

I think Amy Lee pulls it, but i can say collectively, Lacuna Coil is the better band.

I can't agree...

Amy always sounds like she's complaining now.

first album and all those demos before she actaully did sing... the new album sounds like one big long whine.

The second album is one big whine. The majority of it, potshots at her ex, the drunk from Seether - a band i don't like anyhow. ](*,)

But her vocal range is astonding in my opinion - not to say Cristina's isn't. I've still yet to hear either live - but i'm going to see Lacuna Coil this month, so we'll see if my opinion changes on who's got the better range vocally.

It is technically the fourth.
Evanescence has - Origin (it rocks but they quit producing it and can be found on ebay only) then the second album was fallen later re-released with the bonus track farther away. The third album is their paris tour 'anywhere but home' and then fourth, the most recent is open door.

If no one has heard songs from their first album 'origin' check it out it is phenominal stuff.

Origin is NOT an album.

They have two albums...

Amy was being intereviewed by Much Music, and a fan asked about Origin, and she actually rolled up a piece of paper into a bull horn and shouted "ORIGIN IS NOT AN ALBUM...IT'S A FREAKING DEMO" at him.

She explained that Origin was a bootleg that the band wished woudl go away. They don't get a penny for those demos and insist no one was ever meant to hear them.

yes, origin is simply a batch of demos that were dressed up to send to record companies. i can't remember the guys nam that leaked all the demos, but he was a friend of the record producer at big wig enterprises (the label they were signed under before windup) and he copied all of their songs and i think they were accidentally shared via a p2p program.. i think the songs were in his shared folder and he didn't realize it or something. i heard that on evboard awhile back, but i don't remember all the details about the p2p bits though.

btw, SS is based on the cell, not lacuna coil.
