Falwell: Dead [Updated title]

So nice to see that the hateful little maggot is now dead. I can only hope that it was very slow and very, very painful.

You show repect for a persons behaviour and achievement's in life not just because he is dead. This mongrel spread hatred and live on his greed in the name of God.

Heaven doesn't want him and he'll probably get kicked out of hell too.

p.s. I apologise for comparing this moron to the little maggot. It was not my intention to offend him.

HUMPH!

All I have is contempt for that big mouth right wing biggoted hypocrite.

Good riddance to the divisive asshole!

Re: Falwell found unresponsive in his office. Grave condition

I'm not unhappy about anyone's failure to mourn. I'm not mourning his death. I just don't understand the hatred that it takes to celebrate someone's death.

I explained it well back on post #33. If you don't "understand" from that than there is nothing we can say to help you understand.

Hopefully Phelps' group will show up at his funeral in a protest. They're just crazy enough to find some reason for his death. Something else to blame on us.

That it twisted and wrong....

I love it!!!

But hopefully Phelps will keel over and they'll just toss him in the same grave.

I had no idea that Falwell got involved in South Africa's internal affairs -- I thought he was focused on simply destroying America. Thanks for that piece of timely information.

As to Falwella's renunciation of segregation in the US, well, he renounced it the way Trent Lott, Jesse Helms and other low-lifes in the GOP did: they may not have talked about their fondness for a segregated society in public, but I do not doubt they lusted for it in their so-called "hearts."

He was an equal-opportunity bigot -- he could be bigoted against anyone regardless of race, color, nationality, or... well, he was against everyone not of his own creed, so there's no "could" to it.

^ Maybe you understand these religious fanatics, kay -- after all, you deal with gun nuts, so let me ask: who the fuck do they think they are? Who authorized them to determine who is moral and who is not? Who tasked them with deciding that Mandela should stay in prison, and Botha should become president of SA? Why don't they tend to their own wounded, their afflicted, their addicted, their addled? Why don't they mind their own fucking bidness?

Well, when they're in power, the proper way to muzzle them is to exercise the right of insurrection and eliminate their asses.
And when they're Falwellsm and you live nearby, you go to his church and interrupt him in the sermon and ask him where God said, "Love your neighbor as yourself, except the ones you'd rather hate"?
Or if that doesn't work -- or you get thrown out (hopefully by main force, showing just what sort of people he's gathered) -- then you organize a weekly sit-in with enough people that he can't even get to his own church, and have your own sermon ready from his own scriptures, and when a bunch of his people have gathered, you start preaching -- hopefully with television cameras on hand, so people can see him get mad at you for preaching what Christ did.

Mostly, there is no way to muzzle these people. Calls to repent will fall on deaf ears; they've already handed over their willingness and ability to understand the message of the Scriptures, so their ears are closed. So you do whaat you can to show who they really are -- and if they gain political power, well, that's what the right to keep and bear arms is for, in extremis.

BTW, the political statement inherent in my avatar is applicable here -- anyone see it?

I heard on the radio a list of Falwell quotes and one of them was that he considered Billy Graham the tool of the devil or Satan. WTF?

Re: Falwell found unresponsive in his office. Grave condition

Okay, that's pretty ironical, and a slight bit funny. Way to go, fuckbait.

Thanks, I feel special. !oops!

I truly am not a psychic, seeing T-zero's post, I wonder how I knew that. I wonder if I should get one of those numbers that charges you 9.75 per minute. Or change my name to Chloe or something like that.

Getting serious, I can believe those people are truly out of their mind. Falwell was more on phelps side than anyone else.

You can't make this shit up.

Re: Falwell found unresponsive in his office. Grave condition

sorry I duped my last post.

wtf is 'commentaw'?

Looking at the way it is used in various documents, my guess is that a commentaw is a written summary that is represented by its author to be a recitation of factual information. Sort of an overview or background about a particular subject.

:?

Don't give yourself too much credit, you didn't explain it that well. And I don't understand why "understand" needed to be in quotes. In which post did you explain that?

I still say it is happiness that he's dead. What else do dancing bananas signify if not happiness? When I think of relief I don't think of dancing bananas. And to be happy about someone's death I say there has to be some sort of hatred there.

I know that the argument is to blame Falwell and his ilk for denegrating homosexuals and causing undue anguish. That's weak, get over it. You have to take some responsibility for your own happiness and stop blaming religious nuts, or parents or society. Let me step down off my :soapbox:
Like I said, you obviously won't understand it so I will just let you go off into your own fantasy world. You are probably one of those selfhating gay republicans anyhow. And nice job on lowering your ownself by calling someone fuckbait.

By the way I didnt do the dancing banana, but if that is the way someone wanted to celebrate I totally respect that. How do you not know that any of us could have grown up in a very christian household that was like a nightmare growing up due in part to Falwell. Don't judge people for being "happy" because one of their tormenters is finally dead, its their business not yours

Well I'm gonna take up for Mo, seems that my name is "FUCKBAIT' .
sorry mo:p

Well I guess I'll just have to add these perverts to the deportation list, right?

Oh, if you're looking for a free country, NK isn't it.

I generally don't approve of deportation of citizens, but for extreme bigots....

Still, maybe deportation isn't the best idea. NASA is still in the business of sending people into space, right? I'd "recruit" these barbarians to field test new spacesuit designs....

They are one of the best arguments for orbital space habitats -- most of humanity would breathe more comfortably if they weren't even on the planet.

Uh, no. I guess I'm not an expert on Fred Phelps and WBC. I know they hate, but I would have thought they'd like somebody.

Unless you believe what they do, effectively recognizing Phelps himself as Pope, Prophet, and Priest of Perfection, you are by their definition a servant of the devil.

They don't see at all that they've turned the Gospel into a law of hatred and condemnation, and taught themselves to hate, to the point that they aren't capable of liking or even tolerating anyone not marching and singing in lockstep with them.

I keep hoping Phelps will show up and cheer for the attempted murderers of another Matthew Shepard -- I've made a vow to pack my truck, strap on my .357, slap my Greek New Testament on the dashboard, and go face the man. I've faced down haters before, but I think I would take more pleasure facing him down than all the others combined.

Oh -- the .357 is in hope that he'd get so enraged he'd attack me with a protest sign, and it would be in a state with a "No Retreat" laws on the books.

Come on, Phelps -- make my day!

hint: think about the people the seal represents.

From the pdf, wtf is 'commentaw'? That pdf is riddled with typos and such. I'm not surprised they will picket his funeral though. I reflect back on the question iman asked earlier that seems to be based on an ideal as opposed to reality, "Since when is it christian to bring out the worst in people?" A better question to ask is, "When did Christianity start to bring out the worst in people?"

I can answer that one:

When the Bishop of Rome decided he was the one to tell everyone else what it meant to be Christian. 1054 was a major point, as was 1545, and then 1870 made the arrogance official.

But ever since the first move, others have gotten it into their noggins that they are Pope instead, and are infallible, but are in addition Prophet, etc.

:rotflmao:

Well, some of them feel that way....

Actually, that's a nice patch, though I'd replace the bottom with "I own myself". ..|

But as it is, that's not a bad message if it was put on a rainbow flag on the back of my GOA jacket... ..|

oops; I just gave away the meaning of my avatar!
Maybe I should use the patch on a rainbow flag, instead. :-)
