Favorite Gay Movie?

I didn't overly care for Weekend. I thought the tall guy was cute and sweet. But I thought the other guy was a creep and a downer. Then there's the way the film ended... It was far from the worst gay film I have seen, but it is not in my top ten either. Different strokes I suppose.

I share the same sentiments. And I was so excited to see it. It didn't impress like I thought it would but it wasn't a complete let down.

Off the top of my head I would have to say A Single Man, Brokeback Mountain and Shelter are my favorites.

the film was released by criterion on dvd and blue ray last week in the US. you should revisit it.

I got Bear City on Quick Flixs the other day. Has anyone seen it? I'm going to watch it tonight.

I saw Judas Kiss recently, I thought it was a really good film. Very different to what I've seen before.

It is a romantic movie about two guys who spend the night together trying to find a place to get it on. It is beautiful and sweet. You can see it on Youtube. I recommend it. I also have a crush on John Paul Pitoc, so I'm biased.

I don't have A favorite gay movie even though there are several I love. To be honest most gay-themed movies are terrible.

Weekend is one of the best in a very long time.

Tom Cullen (the darker haired guy) cleans up beautifully and gains a posh accent as one of Lady Mary's recent suitors on Downton Abbey this season. Unfortunately she turns him down, but--who knows?--maybe he'll be back.

I'm looking on catching up with some gay movies this weekend to counteract all the Sochi crap. I'm trying to find that one with Thomas decker in it, boomer or something like that. Just for once I want to find one with a happy ending

Brokeback Mountain stand outs as my favorite, I know there more the worst is film Boat Trip.

I think mine changes depending on when I am thinking about it...but Torch Song Trilogy, Jeffrey and It's My Party stand out in my mind....and Tales of the City for the strong gay characters and themes.

I loved East Side Story. I have this on DVD and love it.

Even though the secondary characters (Pablo, Diego's aunt, the neighbor's boyfriend) are a bit caricaturish, by the end of the movie, they're each put in their place quite nicely.

Freier Fall was great....a love story about two police officers who tried to hate each other, but realized they were in love with each other more and more.

Die Mommie Die!

Probably not what you had in mind, but I'm in an "I hate romance" mood so I'm not going to think about movies where people fall in love.

I watched Die Mommie Die after finding this scene on YouTube. Now I know most of the dialogue. !oops!

I do love romantic films though -

Shelter
Maurice
Torch Song Trilogy
Just A Question Of Love
Sommerturm - The first gay film I watched.

Among short films I liked - O Beautiful and I love the Korean one below.

My favourite is "Weekend" like many of you. Meanwhile, i don't know if it's considered as gay movie but my second favourite gay-themed movie is "Loose Cannons" by Ferzan Ozpetek. "Mine Vaganti" in its original name. It's about two gay brothers who live in traditional family.

I just read through 400 documentary names on IMDB to find this :dead: I saw it a few years ago on YouTube and the video got deleted and I had forgotten about it.

Anyway this documentary is about gay people not having role models that we can connect to while growing up especially in terms of romantic relationships and the late blooming of most gays and then trying to make up for lost time.

I really really loved it :luv2:

I once saw a documentary on Cinemax called "101 Rent Boys Uncut". It's actually a really intriguing doc profiling male hustlers down the Santa Monica Strip. You see that these are guys just trying to make it. Adult star Max Grand is in there, number 62. You really get to know these guys as real people - what makes them happy, how they ended up in prostitution, some of the clients they see - you'd be surprised...some of the clients, the hustlers really enjoy having.

But it is a very intriguing piece of work.

I just saw this amazing little indie film from Brazil called, "The way he looks." So great.
