Florida or California?

I like California more. Maybe I'm biased because I've been to California longer and more, but I love it there. So many different places to go to... and it's such an interesting state. They have state parks, beaches... I don't know. I just love it. Florida was interesting

I'll take earthquakes over hurricanes any day. The earthquakes as of late have never been any higher than 4.0. Unless you count that one in Mexico a couple of months ago. As for Disney attractions Florida beats California with Disney World.

Disneyland is just too damn small and having built Disney's California Adventure its just not all that great if you count Tower of Terror and Toy Story Mania and a few other rides it just don't make up for it. Plus World of Color is not all that great unless you have the best seat in the house otherwise its insane trying to see it without a fast pass.

I HATE HATE HATE Florida...

A wise comedian once said of Florida:

"It's not the heat it's the humidity and it's not the hate it's the stupidity."

As a Las Vegas native I have to side with California, which is for all intents and purposes Nevada's big sister state. SoCal love hardcore, San Diego is GORGEOUS and I plan to relocate there in the future.

There are good parts of Florida that can be found in CA but not the other way around. Ca has warm weather overall without the humidity of Florida. California has more diversity than any other state in the entire US. Nothing beats CA!

I love Miami (not FL). I love the weather much better than Cali

Um... you... like insane humidity that's inescapable, hurricanes, flash rain storms and mosquito season?

'Cause... we don't really get humidity here. Not really. And if we do, you drive for 20 minutes and you're up in the mountains where it's cooler. We don't really get rain in SoCal aside from a few showers in February. We don't get hurricanes ever. And I have't seen a mosquito for years.

California is a complete win for me. I'd have to think it over hard if somebody in Florida told me "Frank, if you want to live in Florida, I'll give you a 14-room house in Palm Beach for free." Chances are that I'd decide NOT to take that person's offer.

Cali is my second favorite U. S. state, only behind Oregon, so having a choice between the two is a complete no-brainer for me. I'd probably move to Florida before I'd move to Oklahoma or Utah, though...

I love California's variety of landscapes as well as attractions. Florida has some very nice beaches and attractions as well but I hate all the snakes and lizards they have down there. Everything from poisonous snakes to pythons, ugh!

I have never been to Florida. I have heard that Wilton Manors is very gay friendly in Florida. I know that property taxes can get really high in Florida. I really don't like wet heat...it is one of the reasons why I would not want to live in Hawaii.

I find it funny that someone brought up Prop 8 in CA when only just a few weeks ago, Florida finally got rid of their anti adoption laws for GLBT people. Overall, Florida is a much more conservative state than California.

Comparing California to New York is probably a better comparison in some ways because they both have good things for different reasons.

I would say California. I've been to both and they are in my top 3. (Massachusetts, California, then Florida).

I guess I like California more because the people care about the well being of the environment, and contrary to the bullshit NOM and Mormons would like you to believe, it is an accepting state that is pro gay in a lot of place, or at least tolerant in others.

Also, the weather is better, not as humid. You can go from Snow capped mountains to the beach in the same day. Well,
plus there is always San Francisco, aka heaven :luv:

Neither. There is nothing to compare to the Eastern Coast of Australia. :D

Yes - I know I'm biased - but it's true!

offtopic:

(Maybe I should start another thread? ;))

If you like earthquakes, mudslides, wildfires, and drive by shootings you can have Cali...and the 3 strikes law is ridiculous. A person can get sent to jail for life (the taxpayers paying for it) for stealing a slice of pizza.

Um... you... like insane humidity that's inescapable,.

It's not inescapable. All you have to do it go inside and turn an AC on. I grew up in the northeast and being where there is no humidity when it get very hot is brutal, you pray for some moisture in the air. Also Florida is less hot than the northeast in the summer. NY will sometimes reach 100, Florida normally won't.
