The only way to think it's dead-on is if you've invented that as a religion out of nowhere. It certainly has nothing to do with the Abrahamic religions, nor with Buddhism.

Are you the ignorance police? This is the "Funny anti-religious Internet pics" thread, not the "Funny anti-religious except for Kulindahr's religion Internet pics" thread.

I don't think it's ignorant at all. Religion is based entirely on what has been written. Anytime a religious person is asked for proof, they point to their holy text. You do it too. Your "evidence" is what has been written about Jesus by anonymous authors probably a generation or two after his death. Anything else, such as person experiences (ex., "I found Jesus!" or "God spoke to me!") is nothing more than delusion and/or hallucination.

StarCrasher, let us accept that it is difficult for some posters to confront the moment that they can't explain why something is ignorant in a way that is convincing to even themselves. It is true that humour not only lightens the mood but enlightens the mind, often despite people's best efforts to the contrary. I'm enjoying the thread regardless of the ire it raises in some quarters.

Heh. But it can be used to justify idiotic things -- like, A says "I'm offended by stupidity!" but B says, "Well, I can be stupid if I want!" That's true, but it's not a defense... it's just a whine.

Well. In a thousand years it will not become less true that light from distant sources in the universe is bent by the gravity of intervening objects.

Try explaining your theory to a blind man instead of berating.

So far, I've listed my grounds for doubt in theism. I've not seen that rebutted. All I've heard in favour of theism is "testimony is true," and "it's mathematically elegant because 1 cubed is 1."

Reminds me of a stupid glow-in-the-dark Jesus lamp someone got me when I was little. I thought it was stupid.
