It's not logic. To use a modern analogy, if God mails everyone a check for a million bucks, the only people that get any money are the ones who deposit or cash it -- the rest lose out.

"Belief" isn't standing at the edge of the Grand Canyon and saying, "I believe you can cross it with your wheelbarrow on that tight wire", it's getting in the wheelbarrow.

I can actually read the top three quite well. The bottom one looks more like German.

But the text under it has no relation to the image.

Anglo-Saxon, or otherwise known as Old English. The language of King Alfred the Great. It's not until you get French entering the English language (post 1066) that English is more intelligible.
