Re: goy

so...they encourage men marrying women and secretly having sex with men, because being "out" is bad. ok then...

that's an interesting website for sure. i think i'll stay gay thanks.

Re: goy

Well they can't be too popular as they haven't been picked up by main stream media.

the term g0y

I just heard this term not too long ago - and yes, I typed it correctly - g0y - that is a zero in the middle. Has anyone else heard this term? There is a site "www.g0ys.org" that has this whole thing on the term. It is basically bisexual guys who do not have anal. It is basically a friendship between two men that goes beyond just basic friendship to another physical level.

Re: the term g0y

Reminds me of that song -- Where the Goys Are by the Kinsey Sicks (4 Jewish drag queens).

Where the goys are
Someone waits for me
Blond hair that glows
A tiny nose
A strangely quiet family...

Re: the term g0y

I think it's probably like those purity rings... a noble resolution that ain't gonna last too long...

Re: the term g0y

G0ys aren't bisexuals (specifically). They're guys who dig other guys. But, for whatever reason, they're scared to death of the word "gay". They get majorly hung-up on outsiders' perceptions. They fear getting lumped in with drag queens, and effeminate homosexuals, and...well, "those goddamn homos". They bewail their fate that the world wants to lump them into same category as them, and thus have invented their own category in a (really lame) attempt to convince the world that they're different.

"We're not like that!"
"We're MEN!"
"We're MASCULINE men!"

Seriously - boo fucking hoo. Why are these guys so scared of the word? Of the associations? No, I don't dress in drag or wear rainbow short-shorts, but I don't feel the need to put a new word on myself so others will be clear on this fact. I'm sexually attracted to guys. So I'm gay. Just like the g0ys are. No matter how hard they try to convince themselves they're not.

Re: the term g0y

LMAO.

Yay, I love Jasun's comments. Such a shame the old thread isn't around so we could read through it again ;)

Re: the term g0y

well you know the gay community is great at making up new names for sub-genres of itself... it used to just be the "gay community" now its "gay, lesbian, transgendered, bisexual, what have you community...

Yet g0y is the one we all hate so much.

Re: the term g0y

Oh god I remember reading about this.

Yeah they have rules too.

It's liek 10 or something.

It's really stupid. They just like men and like having sex with men but are too masculine to be called Gay because being gay is obviously a bad thing

Re: the term g0y

>>>Yet g0y is the one we all hate so much.

If g0ys wanted to simply use the term to mean "masculine gay guys" or even "gays guys who don't do anal", that's totally fine by me. It's their insistence that they're NOT gay - that they're nothing like "them fags" - that brings down the scorn.

Re: the term g0y

I thought the hole point was that they do not have sex with men and consider anal "not natural" or whatever the reasons...

I thought they at least gave each other blow jobs.

I think there was a part of anal in it.

There was a thread about it a long time ago and it listed their bible thing.

And I was sure it mentioned how they could have sex and still be straight and masculine.

Re: the term g0y

Ok I hate to do this but lets put some facts on the table... I am not defending these people but I am defending their right to call themselves whatever they want without us mocking them as we have been mocked in the past by others.

These guys are not closeted... they fully acknowledge the fact that they like men.

Their main issue and I really think they have a point here is that the term GAY has become completely all encompassing and does have a SOME negative connotations.

Our community is now called the LGBT community which includes us homosexual men, lesbians, bisexual men, and transgendered individuals.

The gay men include the butchest of the leather daddies to the swishiest of the club twinks. The lesbians include the sledgehammer weilding bull dykes to the high wearing feminine lipsticks. We also include the Bisexuals which are gay but also straight in a sense. And we include the transgendered individuals which when it comes down to it are essentially straight. (though there are exceptions)

Also these g0ys are weary of anal sex. ... So they don't like anal sex yet when you ask most straight people (men) what they think of when they think gay the first thing is anal sex. If a straight man bends over in front of you and knows you are an out proud male, isn't their usual response to cover their butt and look at you even if in a joking manner?

Also when you look at the gay community we have been stereotyped. When they show the Pride parades what do they usually show but the drag queens, nudists, and nelliest of twinks. Where is the rest of our society?

And who are our voices. The ones that make the most to be seen and heard? The Chris Crockers, The Perez Hiltons, The Clay Aikens... The ones who hardly represent all of us.

The GLBT comunity only severed ties with NAMBLA about a decade or so ago yet we still have the spectre of pedophilia hanging over our heads to this day.

Is it any wonder that these men who love other men but don't subscribe to all the negativity and sterotypes of the WHOLE community have banded together to form a new community which embraces ideals closer to themselves then what we have become... which is essentially a melting pot of everything within our separtist, elitist society?

I am not saying we don't have things to be proud of as a whole community but I also think we should try harder to try to smash the stereotypes so that people like g0ys won't be ashamed to take on the moniker of gay.

Re: the term g0y

I'm no longer black...I'm bl@ck!

In all seriousness, if they don't like being associated with negative stereotypes about gay people, then they should work to dispel those stereotypes.

But see, that's the problem right there. I am (to at least some degree) a "straight-acting" gay man. I'd like to think I go against the stereotype. But I don't smash the stereotype by saying I'm not like Clay Aiken. I smash the stereotype by saying I AM like Clay Aiken.

Re: the term g0y

Ruh roh. Jasun is on the warpath.

Re: the term g0y

no, that is exactly what fully acknowledging it means, if they didnt ignor it, they would marry women, and not have secret sex with me, because they would not be fully acknowledging it. i agree, let people do what they wont honestly who cares, if thye want to be called g0ys big deal.

we are having the exact conversation about them, that a million other people have about us, it just seems pretty lame to me.

Re: the term g0y

and by me i mean men* unless they are cute, in which case, im up for anything.
