Re: g0y?

Oh, whatever.

I'm not "afraid" to be anything.

What I am most of all right now is tired of all this horseshit.

Sayonara baby.

Re: g0y?

OK, maybe YOU are not afraid to be gay.

but telling me that I'm "rampantly, loudly and proudly gay" when I'm just a guy who's gay is rather.. um.. well. "horse shit" does come to mind.

Re: g0y?

Why would they want to distinguish themselves from all of us gays? They know they're allowed to not like anal sex, or go to gay pride, or not be feminine or whatever they want, they're still gay if they like/have sex with men. Inventing a new term for gay people who don't prefer some things as other gay guys do is saying ALL gay guys (who call themselves gay) are into that (everything 'g0y' isn't into to), doesn't it!? That's just stupid, get over it, you're GAY, and you can still be GAY and not prefer anal, oral, or even kissing, whatever, that's YOUR preference, doesn't make you anything other than GAY!

Everyone's behaviors are different, doesn't mean you're not gay if you prefer/don't prefer things "other" gay guys do, you're you but still doesn't change the fact you're gay.

If people did this we would have a name for everything, "hey I don't like cucumbers so I'm a 'nocucumbo' are you one too?"

As the great and wise P!nk said "STUUPPIID GIRLLSS"

Re: g0y?

I fail to see how it's a positive step.

"I'm not like one of those morrally bankrupt perverts who hangs out in bath houses" isn't really positive.

But I guess it's better than refusing to admit to liking the cock.

Re: g0y?

what bothers me about this is...

it implies that gay people are immoral and not real men, and the only way for new gay men to be moral and real men is if they make up a new name for it.

well that is assinine and it shows a complete lack of experience with real interactions with us.

it seems to boil down to this....

the guys that use this new title are ashamed of being homosexual and want a gay light title

in the eighties that title was bisexual, but since bisexuality is emerging as a real sexuality within our community and are living openly within their sexual identity, we have a new title for it.

i agree with Soilwork and Robert. I should have spoken up earlier in my agreement, but ive been a bit distracted.

thanks guys, for taking on this difficult topic.

Re: g0y?

No amount of sugar-coating, relabeling, and rationalizing is going to change the fact that they're still gay...

A rose by any other name is still a rose...

Re: g0y?

Honestly, I think it would be just as hard.

The g0y people are already handing out new rules. "ANAL IS FORBIDDEN" like they're the third reich.

The whole thing makes me wanna barf, and after reading that "We're respectable Christians and we just keep our love of the cock a secret from our respectable friends" thing reminds me much of all the married ass hats who come here and brag about how they're fucking behind their wives back and expect us to cheer them on.

Re: g0y?

I believe this is the biggest point that Soilwork and I agree on...

I'm so sick of all of these bullshit new terms people come up with to avoid being *gasp* gay or bisexual.

If you like only men, you're gay. Period.

If you like men and women, you're bisexual. Period.

Stop trying to make excuses for why you're not. Both terms are already rather broad and cover EVERYONE who isn't heterosexual.

And I know of the thread Soilwork is talking about. It doesn't matter how much you "reject labels". Gay is gay and bisexual is bisexual no matter how much someone wishes they weren't.

You're dead right there, Andreus.

As for the term, 'g0y', what a fucking stupid, post-internet, word that is.

Have you ever heard about the term "g0y"?

Well, this is my first thread. I really didn't know where to put the thread, I don't know if the mods have a better section for it.

Well, I was on youtube and "What the Buck", which I subscribe to had a new video. Here is the link for it What the Buck. After watching the video I ventured into other videos and found another video about the stereotypes and hatred towards the gay community. Here is the link to the video.Faggot... the reason behind hatred.

I started to read the comments to the video and one of them caught my eye.

Here is the comment on the video.

"There is a rapidly growing M2M's movement called ".g0ys" (Spelled w. a ZER0 - G00GLE 'em) that consists of guys who (by their very nature) choose to be disconnected from the stereotypes & filth that the gay-male community pushes as what "gay" is "all about". G0Y - It's about time "gAy" collapsed from the inside out!!"

I decided to look them up and found their site its g0ys.org, spelled with a zero. Anyways at first the site sounded interesting but the more I read it I found it absurd. I feel like these are people who are ashamed for being labeled gay. I think that these people are the ones who end up ruining the lives of the women they marry by telling them years later that they have been unfaithful to them with another male.

I'm not casting any stones here. I really cant say much because I'm still fighting my own issues. I just wanted to know if any of you guys have heard about the term and how you feel about it.

Re: Have you ever heard about the term "g0y"?

Hmmm...reminds me of some feminists that refuse to spell woman as woman, and insist on spelling it "womyn" in an attempt to lose any "dependency" on man.

Gay....G0y

No matter how you spell it, it doesn't change who or what you are. [-X

Re: Have you ever heard about the term "g0y"?

I've heard it... a few months ago there was quite a lengthy thread on the topic (let's see if I can find it... here it is...) which created quite a brouhaha.

I think you'll find that there are a lot of movements and sites that make a lot of sense at first, but the farther you look into them, the odder they become. Which is why you always have to think a thing all the way through, you have to read the statement all the way to the end (catching every word in between) before you ascribe to a belief.

Re: Have you ever heard about the term "g0y"?

The whole concept is seriously flawed on several levels:

#1
Hatred is an irrational feeling that feeds on its own preconceived ideas. People, who hate gays, do so because they disapprove of the nature of our sexuality and the fact that we live our sexuality, the way it is. Plainly, they hate us because of the m2m sex that we enjoy, whereas they find it repulsive, disgusting, sinful, despicable, unnatural, ungodly or whatever. The fact that some of us also wear pink underwear and shake our bums with other people really does not change anything. Reinforcing or diminishing any of the stereotypes about the gay people, community and culture will never affect the central & core source of their hatred. ('Dude, you suck dick? That's disgusting.')

#2
Appeasing anyone has never worked. Appeasing the haters equally so. Politically and strategically, appeasement only works, if your plan is to gain time and re-arm, re-group and replenish your resources. Nothing else will ever be achieved by trying to appease your detractors. On the contrary, they will never fail to see your attempts at appeasement as signs of your cardinal weakness and will subsequently even increase their demands. (The guys behind the movement have never really done their History 101...)

#3
Politically, there is no viable way of realizing such an agenda. Gay community is a group of very highly heterogenous people, whose only common denominator is the same sex attraction. In other words, even if the motion, the g0ys are trying to promote, were to be a good and valid one, it would have never succeeded anyway. The community itself is simply far too heterogenous as to adopt any political or ideological concept that cannot be enforced (such as law).

Re: Have you ever heard about the term "g0y"?

"g0y" is another term for "loser who has no balls."

Re: Have you ever heard about the term "g0y"?

By the way, Robert... thanks for that link.

Wow, when I really get going I can really cut with the words, eh?

And I forgot that since "G0Y" people don't wanna be called "gay" that we decided to cal them "Lame-ass Butt-Munchers from Uranus."

Re: Have you ever heard about the term "g0y"?

Lol, sorry for resurfing this topic I should've done a search before posting. I dd read the earlier thread and well I see how seriously debated this got.

Re: Have you ever heard about the term "g0y"?

Sorry, I've never felt pushed into any stereotypical role or behavior by the gay community. Yeah, I have some gay guys who think I dress like a slob (I do), but that's their issue, not "the gay community's".

I think it's spelled with a zero for a reason.
